Hello Bewilderness Fans and Happy National Dog Rescue Day! Today we thought we'd have Callie tell her story about adopting her dog LD. He's featured in our puzzle 'Doggy Dreamscape', designed by Callie.

Callie and LD's Story:
"I was desperate for a dog and LD was needing a loving home, I'm so happy it worked out!
It's not quite the Seattle housing market, but it can be tough to actually get the dog you see on the website, someone always got there before me! So, on guidance from staff at the lovely Lynnwood P.A.W.S. said to arrive early in the morning and see the new pooches before they went online. Great advice! That's when i spotted LD!! He's hard to miss with his vibrant tigerish brindle pattern! He just came up to the rescue from hurricane Harvey with his bro. Skittish when i met him, he slowly warmed up after i fed him chunks of our shared love, cheese.
He wouldn't leave the rescue and had a real aversion to going through doors when i first got him. Thankfully, we made it through and home. Check out this commemorative coaster i made to celebrate our first day together!
Since then, LD and I have been inseparable! We go on adventures all the time and he just loves swimming in the water.
It hasn't been all easy though, each pupper has their challenges. LD's are genetic and he was born with dysplasia, essentially giving him super arthritis at a very young age. However, we have persevered and thanks to the folks at Sound Vet Rehab (), putting him through his paces on the underwater treadmill and teaching us exercises to help him manage his issues.
LD loves to come into the office with me and help keep us safe at Bewilderness with his massive borks. His favorite treat is his morning bone, but he is such a weirdo he won't eat it unless two people are in the room!"
