We remember the life and work of Alexander Grinshpun, 1949-2026.
Born in Moldova, Grinshpun began his artistic journey as a theatrical artist, designing scenery for stage performances. Over his career, he developed his own expressionist-naive style, pairing the emotional focus of Expressionism with the simple, direct forms of Naive art. Inspired by the character of the Mediterranean region, his paintings combine deep feeling with endearing charm.
