🌈 Why the name 'Pastel Lines'? 🌈

I have been told in my many years of being an artist that my dark line work was 'undesirable'. I was 1️⃣7️⃣ when I competed at state level for costume design.

One judge told me my line work was terrible and how he didn't see me having a career as an artist.

I held composure there. I sobbed when I left. I threw out my sketches. My stagecraft teacher told me, "If he was so great, he wouldn't be here judging people. He'd be working on Broadway right now."

I gave up art for nearly 1️⃣0️⃣ years. I got back to it when I became disabled. I made my lines darker. I made them thicker. And I made my colors even more pastel and vibrant.

I painted this in EXACTLY 4 years ago. To the day. And I just now found it. THAT is a sign from the art deities 🙏. It is my favorite subject, Emery Jeane. I want to thank her for being such a big part of my life. My next larger project will be of her. My first offical finished piece since returning to Pastel Lines.

Emery beat addiction. She is living happy and sober. And she has her own business right now. 🪷

Thank you, all of you. For following this journey. This is for ALL of you. All of us. My dreams will come true because of YOU. 🫂
