Dear Apple Cider Century Riders,

We regret to inform you after much debate and deliberation we have decided to cancel the Apple Cider Century Tour for 2020. The safety and health of the participants, volunteers, and our community at large is our prime concern. As the organizers of many large events across the nation have agreed, we are not able to effectively run our tour while meeting CDC guidelines. Even though we are one of the later rides, we had to make a decision based on current conditions as we would now normally begin our final preparation for materials and volunteers.

Registration will be closed for the 2020 year. Riders that have currently signed up for 2020 will have their registrations applied to the 2021 ACC ride. Registration for 2021 will begin immediately.

Please call us with any questions or concerns regarding your registration and we will do what we can as promptly as possible, but please be patient as we are not set up for a large influx of inquiries. Contact us at 269-208-4255.

We truly love our riders and all of the camaraderie, spirit, and fun you bring to our event. We will miss everyone this year and hope to see you Sunday, September 26, 2021!

Please stay healthy and safe... and keep riding

The Dewey Cannon Trading Company & Three Oaks Bicycle Museum is run by the Three Oaks Spokes Bicycle Club, a volunteer-run non profit, was established in 1974 to promote and encourage cycling in Southwest Michigan/Northwest Indiana.
From that humble beginning the development and wayfinding for the Backroads Bikeways bicycle routes, now totalling 20 routes. In 1984 the Three Oaks Bicycle Museum and Information Center was established, which is now housed in the Dewey Cannon Trading Co. (DCTC).

Due to the current lack of bike rentals, visitor donations and registrations for our annual and largest fundraiser, the Apple Cider Century, the Three Oaks Spokes are in need of additional funds for the fiscal year, they have applied for, but have not received SBA funds.

The Three Oaks Spokes hope to raise $50,000 to continue the services we have been able to offer both locals and visitors alike for over 35 years. Any donations received will allow us to continue to house and retain ownership of the Bicycle Museum artifacts and keep the DCTC/Information Center/Bike Rentals up and running. In addition, this location is also the warehouse for and a major component of the Apple Cider Century bike tour.

The Three Oaks Spokes would love to continue to promote cycling for years to come as well as support the Harbor Country area through club rides and activities, Backroads Bikeways bike routes, and community engagement through the Apple Cider Century.

We know that this is a difficult time for everyone right now. At no time did we think we would need to set up a GoFundMe to keep our service going.... Please know that all donations and shares are greatly appreciated! Keep riding!

Apple Cider Century
2020 RIDE UPDATE

To our riders,

As we monitor our current environment with the COVID-19 virus, we will always strive to do what’s in the best interest of our ACC participants, volunteers, and the Harbor Country community. Our board of directors will continue to review and discuss the recommendations of national and local governing bodies to determine our steps regarding the ACC ride for 2020.

We hope that the situation improves enough that we can still host the ride in September. If the health situation warrants canceling the 2020 ACC Weekend, all registrations for the 2020 event will be transferred to the 2021 event.

In the meantime, the weather is improving and it’s vital to everyone’s mental and physical health to get some exercise! Whether you have your indoor bike trainer set up or put on your mask to take a ride outside, we hope that you continue to stay healthy!

We thank you for your support in the past and hope that you will continue to support us in the future.
