It's been three years since we lost Jimmy Buffett. I painted this tribute to him based on the lyrics in his song "Life is just a Tire Swing". In it, he recounts an accident he had in Illinois when he was surrounded by a group of "Grant Wood faces".

I'm sitting in the Nashville Airport listening to Channing K sing Patsy Cline tunes and mourning the passing of Dolly Parton. I met her here in the Nashville Airport 25 years ago. I was decked out in my lawyer gear and carrying a briefcase when I ran into her. She looked me up and down and said, "Aren't you cute." I stammered out, "Thanks" as she walked away. RIP Dolly.💔

I was invited to speak to the Florida Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society today. We discussed my selection as one of five national finalists in the ACS Artist of the Year competition and my husband's succesful battle with AML leukemia that inspired my painting "Breaking Through".
