The Scranton Iron Furnaces engages diverse audiences by preserving and telling the story of the Lackawanna Iron and Coal company and its impact upon the nation’s industrial history. The Scranton Iron Furnaces are administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission and are actively supported by the Anthracite Heritage Museum and Scranton Iron Furnaces Associates, which is a non-profit community-based organization. The Anthracite Heritage Museum and Scranton Iron Furnaces welcomes and encourages support from individuals, organizations, foundations, corporations, businesses, and other entities that enables the educational mission to preserve, interpret and promote the heritage of the Anthracite Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Monetary donations, memorial gifts or contributions to the Annual Appeal help to achieve the goals and objectives of the Anthracite Heritage Museum and Scranton Iron Furnaces.
