Captain
Robert Brandon, 56
Waco Fire Department. Waco, TX

On March 23, 1960, Waco Fire Department Captain Robert Brandon, serving as the Acting Assistant Fire Chief (Shift Commander) of Unit 2, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Following the knockdown of a dwelling fire, Captain Brandon ascended a ladder to check the attic. On his second time up the ladder, he suddenly fell backward into the arms of firefighters below. He was found to be in cardiac arrest, and firefighters immediately administered oxygen until the ambulance arrived. Captain Brandon was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Today, we honor the life, service, and sacrifice of Captain Robert Brandon, age 56. His leadership, commitment, and dedication to the citizens of Waco and to the fire service will not be forgotten.

Rest Easy Brother
Gone But Never Forgotten
