My crochet hook hack of the day: If you want to polish fake nails before you attach them, turn some crochet hooks upside down and put a dab of glue from a glue stick on each, then press the nails on. Polish away! Once they're dry, the nails pop off easily and the dab of glue comes off, too. I'm terrible at polishing my nails--I almost always get polish on other parts of my fingers, and I never have enough patience to wait for them to dry. Artificial nails are great for crochet videos and special occasions. Now it doesn't matter what color they are in the box. (But I have to cut the right thumbnail short so I can remove my contact lenses safely!)

Ooh, look what Renee Hollifield made! It's her Lebienaimee Cowl, using the Magenta Mosaic pattern from my Crochet Cowls book. She actually got to meet the dyer and show her the finished project. Enjoy your beautiful cowl, Renee, and thanks for sharing the pictures! (Photos used with permission.) Stackpole Crafts Stackpole Books

Getting in the holiday mood? There's plenty of time for you to make the Holiday Blossoms Throw! I teach this online class for Annie's; the design is by Darla J. Fanton. I think those little flower shapes would look great in other colors, too, like neutrals or pastels.

Festive flowers! The Holiday Blossoms Throw is the perfect accent for your home during the Christmas season. Whether you choose holiday themes or palettes to match your decor, your colors are sure to come together with the beautiful textured stitch pattern.

In this Learn, Make, Create! online video class tutorial brought to you by Annie’s Creative Studio, crochet expert Sharon Silverman demonstrates how to make the Holiday Blossoms Throw in colors of your choice.
