UNCW PRINT FEST Steamroller Print Extravaganza

UNCW PRINTFEST: Large-Scale Woodblock Printmaking Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00-2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Cultural Arts building on the campus of UNCW.
UNCW’s Art & Art History Department is hosting the 5th Biennial Printfest event. Printfest is a public printmaking showcase presented outside of the Cultural Arts building on the campus of UNCW. Using a sod roller and an unlikely press bed – the parking lot of the Cultural Arts building – a team of artists and volunteers will be printing 2’x2’ woodcuts throughout the day. A range of artists from our local community, UNCW, and CFCC will carve designs into wood, which will be inked and printed before a live audience. There will also be plenty of hands-on printmaking activities for attendees of all ages. The large, unique prints will be for sale during the event.

Coming this Friday, March 24th at the WHQR MC Erny Gallery. Visit the show and see large woodblock prints from past PrintFest events. And by the way...we'll be printing new ones on Saturday, March 25th at our first Printfest event since COVID knocked us out for a few years.

This year's Printfest included the printing of a record-breaking size, (for us, at least!), multi-block creation by Jeremy Millard. Took lots of hands and collaboration to get this thing printed. Come see it at UNCW's CAB Gallery Printfest Opening on Thursday, June 6th (5:30-7:00) !
