In 2013, Carolyn D Palmer was commissioned by the FDR Presidential Library to sculpt t
wo larger than life-size bronze busts of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. The busts are now permanently installed in the entrance lobby of the newly renovated Library at Hyde Park, New York. Her pieces caught the attention of the New York Times and were photographed for the Library's opening. A second edition bronze set of her Roosevelts are in the permanent collection of the New-York Historical Society in New York City. The Norman Rockwell Museum recently had them on loan for their international six city tour, "Rockwell, Roosevelt and the Four Freedoms." In 2015, Palmer unanimously won a national competition out of 68 sculptors to create the new Lucille Ball Sculpture for Lucy's hometown Park in Celoron, New York which was unveiled on Lucy's birthday, August 6th, 2016. The sculpture received national and international media attention. She also sculpted a Pope Francis bust for the entrance to the Papal Residence in NYC where the Pontiff resided during his 2015 visit to the USA. Pope Francis gave this sculpture a special benediction. This led to the commission to sculpt four bronze papal busts for the entrance to St. Her sculptures are now permanently installed in the entrance vestibules facing 5th Avenue. Carolyn recently unveiled her life-size bronze figure of legendary Frank Sinatra for the Frank Sinatra Park along the Hudson River in "Frank's" hometown of Hoboken, New Jersey. The Unveiling was on his birthday, December 12, 2021. Comedian Joe Piscopo was Master of Ceremonies with Frank Sinatra's daughter, Tina Sinatra as the guest of honor. Carolyn Palmer's passion is creating larger than life-size busts and figures. Her current inventory offers miniatures and life size editions of her works. She also sculpted Orville and Wilbur Wright Bronze Busts, her first edition was commissioned for the Lobby of a Sanford/Orlando Airport. In 2002 she was commissioned to sculpt a larger than life-size full figured Thomas Jefferson for the lobby of the Jefferson Center in Syracuse NY. Most recently, in 2024, Palmer won a national competition to create two monumental bronze figures of the first women doctors to graduate with a medical degree in the USA: Dr Elizabeth Blackwell and Dr. Sarah Loguen Fraser. The unveiling is on October 25, 2025 and will grace the courtyard of Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She is also working on a commission for a 17 ft tall Mother Nature Statue for Rindlaub Park in Saddle River, NJ. The sculpture will stand at the entrance to a red covered bridge. Carolyn sculpted a life -size bust of the prestigious Dr. Zef Oroshi for an Albanian Landmark. CBS discovered her talents and displayed her sculptures for their TV series, "Madam Secretary" for six seasons. Another one of her works is of a well known doctor in the medical field, Sir William Osler. Her miniatures are sold to Universities and Medical Doctors around the world. Carolyn was also chosen to sculpt Preston Smith, pioneer of the skiing industry and founder of the Killington ski area in Vermont. A fundraiser has begun.
