The wait is over! The Cape Town Photography Festival 2026 opens this week, bringing the city into focus through TRUTH, a theme that invites us to look more closely at how photographs shape what we believe, remember, and understand.

From 2–26 September, more than 150 photographers from South Africa, across Africa, and around the world will be showcased in nearly 40 exhibitions spanning galleries, museums, cultural institutions, and public spaces across Cape Town.

At Kingsbridge Art, we’re rolling out the red carpet for tonight’s opening: A Sense of Place, featuring the cream of South Africa’s photographic artists.

Can you afford to miss this?

Photographer, director, and cinematographer Yanga Ngam brings his striking vision to the Cape Town Photography Festival. His extreme passion for portrait photography, especially analogue, is infectious.

Ngam’s work is a testament to slow, conscious image-making, standing in contrast to the “pray and spray” culture of photography. Each frame reflects patience, presence, and a deep respect for the craft.
