Walk with us:
The Beauty School program is steeped in ancestral heritage knowledge of the indigenous plants, landscape and multicultural lineages. With roots in women’s herbal traditions of the Khoi and Bushman lineages, this empowerment program offers women training in the art of indigenous plant medicines, beauty, and care. The women learn how to make beauty products, by hand, from accessible natural ingredients found in the valley and surroundings. They are offered training in heritage cultural guiding, sustainable harvesting, beauty making and care services. As well as learning how to administrate and run a beauty business that is respectfully in harmony with its natural environment.
The Beauty School is offering 7 ‘Living Heritage’ walking tours to visitors and the community in 2026. These will be held once a month from April to September, culminating in a Heritage Pilgrimage called ‘A Walk for Beauty’ over the weekend of 23 - 27 September 2026.
WALK WITH US!
Saturday 25 April 2026 5PM.
We gather at the McGregor Wisdom School heritage buildings for story circle. Followed by a guided walk through our beloved krans.
The long-term aspect of these heritage walks is also to upgrade the existing exhibition signage, information boards and places of interest within the McGregor Krans Nature Reserve, as these will stand throughout the year offering great indigenous knowledge of the fauna and flora our ancestors used as part of their heritage.
