This table lamp by Gustav Gurschner features a copper shade pierced with an intricate spiral motif, echoed in the bronze base supported by four brackets. The patinated surfaces, with their subtle greenish tones, enhance the object’s material presence. Inspired by Etruscan and Celtic ornament, the design reflects Gurschner’s search for new, geometrically rigorous forms beyond the floral language of Art Nouveau.

Created during the most innovative years of Loetz, this vase features the striking décor Medici PG 2/484, one of the manufactory’s most admired designs of the period. Turquoise-iridescent silver oxide “tongues” rise dynamically from the base across a luminous ground shifting from yellow to deep maroon. Its vivid metallic shimmer contrasts with the restrained, classical vessel form, while scattered reflective spots catch the light and reveal a constantly changing iridescent reflection.
