Ukrainian corruption scandal - “The current crisis is also a consequence of the impossibility of holding elections during wartime,” writes the Ukrainian Dzerkalo Tyzhnia:
“The continuous exercise of power without elections has led to its degeneration. At all levels. This is evident in the decisions made by the parliament and the behavior of local authorities. ...
For Zelensky, the only chance to turn the situation around would be to allow experts to take over government offices and transfer to them the powers granted to them by the constitution.
They would restore the independence of the parliament.
They would start restarting the judicial system with fair selection procedures. They would release the reins of the secret services.”
