Art and culture are bringing new energy to „Village im Dritten“.

In the courtyard at Ljuba-Welitsch-Promenade 18, right next to Neuer Kunstverein Wien, a new sculptural installation by Michèle Pagel is waiting to be discovered.
Inspired by the science fiction novel Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers, insects, found objects and mysterious artefacts come together in a dreamlike and unexpected scene.

Pagel previously featured in the third edition of HIER UND JETZT. Vienna. Sculpture 2024 at Neuer Kunstverein Wien.
With projects like this, Village im Dritten is becoming a vibrant place where art sparks encounters, conversations and new connections.

Join us for Shy as a shadow, the summer exhibition of Neuer Kunstverein Wien, featuring paintings and sculptures by current and former students of the Abstraction Department at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Moving between revealing and concealing, proximity and distance, invitation and withdrawal, the exhibition brings together artistic positions that explore the spaces between visibility and disappearance. Some works draw viewers into their surfaces, while others resist access, challenging our position in relation to the image and to one another.

The Neuer Kunstverein Wien invites you to the opening of Shy as a shadow, a group exhibition featuring painting and sculpture by current and former students of the Abstraction Department at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Moving between revealing and concealing, proximity and distance, invitation and withdrawal, the exhibition brings together artistic positions that explore the spaces between visibility and disappearance. Some works draw viewers into their surfaces, while others resist access, challenging our position in relation to the image and to one another.
