Murujuga on the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha contains an estimated one million rock engravings created over at least 40,000 years, including some of the oldest known images of the human face.

The site has been nominated for UNESCO World Heritage listing.

Guided tours with local Aboriginal cultural rangers are available from Karratha.

Those who complete a guided walk through the Murujuga rock art describe it as the most profoundly moving archaeological experience available anywhere in Australia.

We started this fundraising campaign with a simple goal — to support artists for one more year, in a consistent way that includes a broad range of voices.

Art in Adelaide has been built through conversations with South Australian artists — talking about what they do, how they think about their work, and what shapes it.

With those funds, we’ll be able to produce around 30–35 full-length video conversations with artists, along with short clips that keep the work visible in between.

That means a regular rhythm — roughly one new video every 10–14 days — instead of production happening when capacity allows.

We want to keep the scope broad, including emerging artists, community practitioners, facilitators, and established figures, so the range of voices reflects the wider arts environment in South Australia.

The idea is simple: if you value this work, consider supporting it in a small way so it can continue consistently without shifting focus away from the artists themselves.

⭐ Artist callout! ⭐

We're on the hunt for artists for a very exciting opportunity at Tanks Arts Centre during Cairns Festival 2026.

Off the Wall Art Sale is for local artists and groups to show off and find homes for new and used artworks; art returned from previous exhibition, art lying under the bed, art that goes bump in the night. Even art materials and other treasures!

No stall fees. No sales commission. No pricing rules. And no walls.
