Carrick Hill is fortunate in being one of the few period homes in Australia to survive with its original contents almost completely intact and its grounds undiminished. It was a centre of stylish living; and friends hold fond memories of a house constantly filled with laughter, parties, artists, music, good wine, fine food and dancing; and heady with the scent of masses of flowers. While those days

are now gone, Carrick Hill remains as an important example of the lifestyle of two wealthy and cultured Australians of the mid-twentieth century. Welcome to Carrick Hill’s Facebook Community. Now Showing | Nadège Desgenètez: This Body, Echoes

JamFactory and Carrick Hill present the 2026 FUSE Glass Artist Residency Exhibition showcasing Melbourne-based glass artist Nadège Desgenétez.

Nadège Desgenétez's work is inspired by her experience of migration, and the ways in which feelings of connection to, and dislocation from place can coexist. Her recent sculptures in glass and mixed media explore how to relay and mediate embodied experiences of inter-relation and distance. Abstract blown glass forms merge body and tree, soft and hard, flow and stillness... Surfaces, colours and reflections echo natural phenomena.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Morris Mania at The Pavilion at Carrick Hill.

It was a privilege to welcome Hadrian Garrard, Director of the William Morris Gallery, London, alongside The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Dr Jane Lomax-Smith AM, for a fascinating afternoon exploring the enduring influence of William Morris and his connection to Carrick Hill.

If you would like to see more Morris-inspired exhibitions, talks and immersive experiences at Carrick Hill, we invite you to support this vision through a donation. Contributions will help us expand interpretation of Morris works throughout the house, create dedicated display spaces, and develop new visitor experiences that bring these stories to life for future audiences.
