PAINTED EARTH ✨ New works from Jeanette Dyson

These four new pieces, 'Anastasia's Pool Gantheaume Point', 'Firetail Country', 'Hutt River Hues' and 'Red Earth', are on the wall now at Black Stump Gallery Broome.

In Jeanette's words: "I seek to portray and celebrate the uniqueness of the Australian North, the spatial isolation and texture of the landscape, in a contemporary interpretation, from an aerial perspective."

‘Painted Earth’ by Jeanette Dyson is showing now at Black Stump Gallery Broome.

Jeanette paints the Australian North from above, capturing the isolation and texture of the landscape in her own contemporary style. “I have been painting since the early 1970s. A resident of the Kimberley for a decade, I painted daily at Red Rock Gallery, in a cultural exchange studio environment, sharing Kimberley ochres, with aboriginal artists (with my addition of gold & pearl dust ) In my paintings, I seek to portray & celebrate the uniqueness of the Australian North. I am acutely aware of all the influences that have formed my own identity, specifically that of the Kimberley.

Black Stump Gallery has lost one of its biggest supporters. Our father and father-in-law Gordon Haggett passed unexpectedly. He always supported us and his help and advice will be sorely missed. He loved Broome and visited us often. He instilled in us the love of getting beyond the Black Stump. Please be patient with us while we navigate this difficult time. Thank you Simon and Emma 🙏🏼❤️
