🇦🇺🇦🇺Today is National Flag Day - 3 September 🇦🇺🇦🇺

Australian National Flag Day on 3 September marks the first time the Australian National Flag was flown during Australia’s year of Federation. On this date in 1901, the Rt Hon Edmund Barton announced the winners of an international competition to design a flag for our nation. A flag, measuring 5.5 metres by 11 metres, was flown over the dome of the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, the site of Australia’s first Parliament.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of Federation, the adoption of the Constitution, the first sitting of Commonwealth Parliament on 9 May 1901, and the first official flying of the Australian National Flag. Australian National Flag Day is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the values of fairness, aspiration and opportunity that unite us.

The date of 3 September also marks Merchant Navy Day, which commemorates the service and sacrifice of thousands of Australia’s merchant mariners during wartime operations. Organisations and individuals observing Merchant Navy Day may fly the Australian red ensign. When the Australian red ensign is flown along with the Australian National Flag, the Australian National Flag should be flown in the position of honour.

Looking for something interesting to do today?

You could come and visit us here at the Caboolture Historical Village or if you are close to Woodford then pop in to check out one of our lease clubs 48th Annual Vintage Machinery Rally.

It runs today Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August with $5 entry for adults and children under 16 free.

It is the 80th anniversary of the Ferguson Tractor this year and we have our oldest working one there on display.

This TE-D20 Ferguson tractor was purchased brand new in 1950 and was used for general farm work on a 250 acre property called 'MYALLA'. The son of the original owner continued to use the tractor until recently when it was donated to the Caboolture Historical Society for display.

☕🌿 A Delightful Morning at the Village 🌿☕

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the Mt Gravatt Garden Club to Caboolture Historical Village for one of our famous homemade Devonshire Teas. 🫖🍓

With the weather putting on a perfect morning, there was no better place to enjoy a cuppa, freshly baked scones and good company than sitting together on the verandah of our rustic Village Hotel.

There’s something rather special about slowing down, enjoying a traditional Devonshire Tea and soaking up the atmosphere of the Village, and we hope our lovely guests enjoyed their morning with us as much as we enjoyed having them here. ❤️

A very special thank you to our wonderful Catering Team, who worked their magic behind the scenes to ensure morning tea service ran smoothly and everyone was well looked after. Your hard work and attention to detail are so appreciated! 🥰

🚗✨ A Very Special Visit to Caboolture Historical Village! ✨🚗

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the Veteran Car Club Australia to Caboolture Historical Village as part of their 70th Anniversary Rally.

It was an absolute pleasure watching all those beautiful vintage vehicles drive into and through the Village. What a wonderful sight it was to see such an incredible collection of historic cars gathered together, and we hope our visitors enjoyed seeing them as much as we did! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone from the Veteran Car Club Australia for including Caboolture Historical Village in your celebrations and for sharing these beautiful pieces of motoring history with us.

We’d also like to say a very special thank you to our wonderful Catering Team, who did an amazing job providing a delicious homestyle burger lunch for everyone. Your hard work, care and warm hospitality helped make the day extra special, and we truly appreciate everything you do! 🍔❤️

1. On Wednesday 23 September the team at Urban Reptiles will be providing an educational demonstration with some of Australia's amazing wildlife with an opportunity to have a photo taken with one at the end of the demonstration.

The Caboolture Historical Village will be having our first Christmas Night Market and Christmas Lights.

We are looking for local vendors who are wanting to put up a stall and sell their products.

The market will be within the grounds of the Caboolture Historical Village.

👻👻👻🧛‍♂️🧟‍♀️🔮 Halloween - Saturday 31 October 2026

The Village is holding our annual Halloween event on Saturday 31st October 2026.

This year our theme is “Halloween, when the Ghoulies and Ghosties come out to play”. The family friendly theme calls for a classic, whimsical and spooky gathering inspired by the famous piece of Scottish folklore and children’s prayer:

From ghoulies and ghosties
And long-leggedy beasties
And things that go bump in the night

Gates will open at 5.00pm on the day and the event ends at 9.00pm.

The first hour will be scare free for all those young at heart people who scare easily.

$5 - children aged from 6 to 16 years old
All children 5 and under will be free entry
