A doom-metal electronic opera to the underworld.

Campbelltown Arts Centre is excited to announce the world premiere of 'Atopia' by Marcus Whale, presented as part of Sydney Festival.

Meaning ‘without place’, 'Atopia' draws you into a world where contemporary performance, live music, choreography and sound art converge to reflect the fractured state of the world.

Created by artist and seven-time Australian Music Prize nominee Marcus Whale, 'Atopia' stages a danse macabre at the threshold of the underworld, blurring the boundaries between human and apparition, power and vulnerability.

'Atopia' invites you to descend into an uncanny realm where dance and doom-metal electrify the darkness within.

Tickets are available at sydneyfestival.org.au from 22 October.

Atopia is commissioned and presented by Campbelltown Arts Centre, produced by Performing Lines and supported by Sydney Festival.

Last week, we brought together aspiring and practicing artists, musicians and music industry workers for a free day of practical activities, specialised workshops, industry stations and inspiring performances from Timomatic, RIAH, PA777IENCE, T1LL0W and Conscious NXT.

With over 150 attendees, Conscious CONNECTS 2026 was our biggest turnout to date.

But don’t just take our word for it…

💬 "The day was super fun, there were lots of opportunities to meet new people and learn about the industry."

Thank you to our 2026 Project Partners who made it all possible: Village Boy Entertainment, River Road Creative Academy, MusicNSW, Mentor Academy, Timomatic, Bodega Collective, Day One Builds, AWWW Pty Ltd and New Gen Artistry.

DirtyFeet is calling for applications from early-career choreographers for the inaugural Lab Before the Lab, a new program supporting artists at the beginning of their choreographic practice.

Designed as a space to meet, exchange and test ideas, the two-week part-time program supports early-career artists to build experience, connections and confidence as they take the next steps in their practice.

Two choreographers will be selected for the 2027 program, with each working alongside up to four early-career dancers. The program offers paid opportunities for early-career NSW artists to develop their practice and build new connections and networks.

Applications are now open: https://www.dirtyfeet.com.au/lab-before-the-lab

Have you always sketched characters in your notebooks? Do you want to make fashion with your own hands?

Arts and Cultural Exchange - ACE presents Parrallax: Build Your Alter Ego, a free costume design and making workshop series led by production and set designer Al Joel and artist Luna Aquatica.

Guided by the principle of “DIY practice as radical expression of self”, participants will repurpose recycled materials into fantastical costumes, props and set pieces, exploring ideas of self and place. The program runs across October and ends with a professional photoshoot and an exhibition for family and friends.

After the workshops, you'll have a professional photoshoot and an exhibition to share with your family and friends.

Shopfront Arts Co-Op is turning 50 — and they are throwing a 50-HOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY to celebrate (aka, a 50-HOUR ACT-A-THON) 🎉

From 10–12 October, they’re filling Shopfront with artists, acts, music, theatre, chaos and plenty of Shopfront energy, both in person and via livestream.

The Act-a-thon has a special place in Shopfront’s history. Many moons ago, Shopfront was about to lose its building. So the Young People rallied the community, raised the money to buy the building, and pulled off an Act-a-thon to help make it happen — creating a home for generations of Young People ever since.

Campbelltown Arts Centre is excited to announce that we are one of the successful recipients of the Western Sydney Strategic Partnership Program.

'Performance Pathways' is a two-part initiative designed to strengthen Western Sydney's performance sector through a First Nations contemporary dance development program and a professional development program supporting emerging culturally diverse practitioners across performance and dance.

The program will offer mentorship, training and new work development, building pathways and long-term capacity across the sector.

We look forward to working alongside artists, partners and communities to support the next generation of talented artists in Western Sydney.
