Gwoonwardu Mia is seeking food van operators to be part of the WA Day Festival Carnarvon 2026 on Friday 9 October from 3pm–7pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your food and be part of one of Carnarvon’s biggest community celebrations! 🎉

✅ No site fee for successful vendors
✅ Food vans must be fully self-sufficient, including power, water and all equipment required to operate
📅 Expressions of Interest close Friday 11 September 2026.

We’re excited to welcome Plants 4 Space to Gwoonwardu Mia today, exploring how plants, food and science could help shape the future of space exploration! 🌱🪐

🧪🌱 National Science Week is coming to Gwoonwardu Mia! 🚀

This August, we’re excited to welcome Plants for Space – ARC Centre of Excellence to Gwoonwardu Mia for two days of hands-on science, discovery and learning for local schools.

Across Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August, primary and secondary students can explore how plants sustain life here on Earth and how they could one day help humans live in space! 🌱🌏🚀

The program brings together Indigenous knowledge, science and hands-on discovery, with students exploring food science, sustainability, engineering and plant biology through a fantastic range of workshops and drop-in activities.

🌙 Moon Base Design Challenge | Years 5+ | 1pm–3pm

From preparing a petri dish like a real scientist and experimenting with food, to designing a Moon base and creating the perfect plant for life in space, there is plenty to get young minds thinking, creating and discovering.
