BIRD BRAIN by Di Richmond

'ALL THE RIVERS RUN' by Karen Waight

Karen has created this beautiful blue-toned artwork using pages from Nancy Cato’s much-loved novel, bringing the story of the Murray River and its characters to life in a striking contemporary way.

And there’s an extra special local connection… Customs House Gallery itself has a connection to the story! The historic Customs House is part of the Echuca riverside precinct featured in the television series All the Rivers Run, which was filmed throughout Echuca in the early 1980s.

So you can quite literally stand in Customs House and own a piece inspired by the story that helped put Echuca on the map!

Not one to do things by halves, John Stevens has certainly pulled out all the stops with this one!

‘The Awakening’ is a bold, intriguing and wonderful combination of painting and sculpture that demands a second look!

The expressive sculpted faces emerging from the dark centre grab your attention, while the colourful, layered landscape below takes you somewhere completely different.

This is the largest artwork Della Nelson has ever painted, and what an incredible statement piece it is! 💙🩷
