Time is running out to visit our beautiful Winter Vibes exhibition, with just one week left before it closes.

Featuring a wonderful collection of original artworks by our talented local artists, Winter Vibes celebrates the colours, moods and beauty of the season.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet or you’d like one last look now is the perfect time.

Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to take your watercolour skills to the next level, we have a class for you!

Join Suzi Zglinicki at Forster Gallery for a five-week watercolour course, starting Friday 4 September.

🎨 MASTER CLASS
For artists looking to further develop their existing watercolour skills.
🕙 Fridays, 10am–12pm

🌿 BEGINNER / LESS EXPERIENCED CLASS
Learn the foundations of watercolour in a friendly and supportive environment. Perfect for beginners and those wanting to build their confidence.
🕧 Fridays, 12:30pm–2:30pm
Minimum of three students required for this class to run.

🎨💧 A Taste of Watercolour for Beginners with Suzi Zglinicki

Have you always wanted to try watercolour painting but weren’t sure where to start?

Join us at Forster Gallery for a relaxed one-day beginner workshop with artist and tutor Suzi Zglinicki, where you’ll learn many of the basic skills needed to start painting successfully with watercolour.

🌿 Using beautiful botanical subjects as inspiration, Suzi will guide you through techniques and skills that can be applied to all kinds of watercolour painting.

✨ No materials? No problem!
All materials will be supplied by Suzi for the workshop, so there’s no initial expense and you can simply come along and give watercolour a try.

Love it? You’ll also have the opportunity to continue your watercolour journey by joining our regular weekly classes.

🎨 CARPARK REPAINTING – NO ACCESS 4–8 SEPTEMBER

Please be advised that the carpark will be unavailable from Friday 4 September through to Tuesday 8 September while the parking bay lines are repainted.

This will particularly affect:

• Members rostered on gallery shifts on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September
• Open Studio attendees on Monday 7 September
• Oil Painting attendees on Tuesday 8 September

Street parking will remain available as usual.

🎉 Introduction - New President

My partner and I moved to Forster after falling in love with this beautiful area while on holiday here eight years ago. We brought our Tamworth business, Aussie Bush Leather, with us. We manufactured, retailed and wholesaled Australian-made leather goods. Many locals remember our retail outlet in Wharf Street, with our manufacturing factory in Boona Street.

Four years ago, we sold the business and have since enjoyed a wonderful semi-retirement in this beautiful community.

As a relatively new member, I've been so impressed by how warm, welcoming and encouraging the gallery has been. I believe that sense of community is what makes GLAS so special and unique.

As I step into the role of President, I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a society with such a strong and wonderful foundation. I have enormous respect for the hard work, dedication and commitment of previous Presidents, committees, volunteers and members who have helped shape GLAS into what it is today. My aim is to honour what has already been achieved, build on that strong foundation, and work collaboratively with our Committee and members to take GLAS confidently into its next chapter.
