CHEERS, ANN-MAREE! 🥂

What a lovely opening we had today! ❤️

It was fantastic to see so many of the I Love South Gippy artists able to come along, catch up with fellow artists and friends, have a drink and enjoy a good old chat.

Colin Budden welcomed everyone on behalf of Stockyard Gallery, and Ann-Maree shared a few words about putting the exhibition together and the wonderful connections she has made with artists right across South Gippsland.

She talked about how much she has enjoyed meeting people in all the different pockets of our region — and it really is lovely to see how that love of place comes through in everyone’s artwork in such different ways.

Ann-Maree loved bringing this show together and is already keen to do more!

💚 I LOVE SOUTH GIPPY 💚

Installation day was done yesterday — and what a fun day it was!

We were absolutely stoked to have Sue Gilford jump in and help, alongside our usual legends Colin and Ray. A large group of artists exhibiting together is always a bit of a challenge, but we reckon Ann Maree has pulled it off — and we’re pretty chuffed with the result! We think Ann-Maree is pretty chuffed too. 😊

The gallery is now OPEN, and we’d love you to come and see this wonderful collection of South Gippsland creativity and talent.

After a month-long winter break, we’re SO excited to reopen the doors at Stockyard Gallery! 💚

We’re busy installing I 💚 South Gippy next week — and we can’t wait to share it with you.

MAKE & CREATE: CERAMIC GARDEN BIRDS

If you’ve ever wanted to have a go at working with clay, this is your chance!

Join Ann-Maree Gentile at Stockyard Gallery and hand-build your very own unique ceramic garden bird. Using simple hand-building techniques, you’ll shape, decorate and create a colourful bird ready to brighten up your garden.

And who better to lead the workshop than Ann-Maree?

Ann-Maree is a bit of a South Gippsland powerhouse — one of those people who sees something that needs doing and somehow gets it done! From organising and bringing people together through the upcoming exhibition I Love South Gippsland, to helping make things happen in our community, she certainly knows how to get things moving.

Now she’s bringing her creativity to Stockyard Gallery with this fun, hands-on workshop over 2 sessions.

Monday 28 September, 10am–12 noon
Make and build your bird.

Monday 5 October, 9am
Finish and decorate your creation.

No experience needed — beginners and experienced makers are welcome.

All materials are provided. Just bring an apron and a cardboard box to take your clay bird home after the first session.

LOOK OUT FOR: I LOVE SOUTH GIPPY

Seven years ago, Ann-Maree Gentile moved to Foster, and last year she decided to bring an idea to life — an exhibition at Stockyard Gallery celebrating community, creativity and the connections made when you move to a new place.

Ann-Maree is a dynamic and driven artist with plenty of ideas, and she has brought together a wonderful group of creatives she has met across South Gippsland. Working in a diverse range of mediums and styles, their work captures the main character energy of South Gippsland — its flora, fauna, landscapes, places and people.

We’re looking forward to seeing this exciting exhibition come together!

At Stockyard Gallery, we enjoy supporting first-time exhibitors and making the process easy and enjoyable. We'll guide you through every stage—from planning your exhibition and hanging your artwork to designing your poster, banner and DL invitation cards. We'll even help you celebrate with a wonderful opening, complete with delicious platter and refreshments.

You don't need exhibition experience—just the desire to share your work.

Would you like to exhibit at Stockyard Gallery in 2027?

We're a warm, welcoming, volunteer-run community gallery that loves celebrating creativity and supporting artists from near and far. If you're looking for a friendly space to share your work and connect with visitors and fellow creatives, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're planning a solo exhibition or exhibiting with friends, now's the time to get your images and artist statement together.

Expressions of Interest for our 2027 exhibition program are now open.
