I'm sharing a new piece called A Civilised Life (Falling down the rabbit hole). It places geometric shapes across a lively color field—cobalt, scarlet and lemon yellow meet deep maroon and soft sky blue. Diagonals move the eye while circular motifs and semicircles provide steady pivots, and small grids with narrow white bands introduce an architectural rhythm. Areas of flat color sit beside softer transitions, giving the work clarity and subtle texture. Here’s Police Point, Tasmania. I wanted to share it because the sunlit shoreline curves past a stand of eucalyptus toward a small red boathouse tucked under broad, twisting trunks. Warm ochres and rust on the sand sit against cool blues and indigos of the water, and a slim jetty creates a quiet diagonal that hints at human presence without taking over. Light falls in patches across the beach, giving the scene a mellow, calming feel, while distant hills soften into greens and muted purples. I’m sharing a piece that mixes bold color and careful structure. Teal, coral, mustard yellow, lavender and warm cream cluster against a deep black background, while curving ribbons and squared fragments nudge the eye through pockets of contrast and calm. Layered translucent and opaque passages reveal new relationships with each look. What catches your eye first? Sharing a recent work titled Primary Understanding. I layered arcs, planes and ribbon-like bands so motion and pause live together, letting saturated blues and crimsons meet ochre and lavender. Narrow black and white lines slice the composition into shifting compartments while circles, teardrop motifs and a small checkerboard act as visual punctuation. A pale yellow semicircle near the top reads like a small sun, a warm note among cooler tones. I wanted to share "Listen", a study of black gestures against a pale field where dense marks meet wide open zones. Angular ladder-like forms and wheel-shaped circles sit beside looser loops, and thicker, deliberate marks anchor the composition while quicker lines thread through the negative space. The rhythm feels restless and steady at once — diagonals drive the eye, horizontal bands calm it, and repeating circles bring everything back around. There’s an urban grit running through it, a kind of construction-and-decay energy that rewards a closer look.
