We hope everyone is enjoying the painting of the Hall By Tony Derksen and Allan Reading. Both volunteers and sanding, undercoating and painting the lovely old girl in her original colours. Along the way, they are spending an enormous amount of time inrepair rotting timbers. They are doing an amazing job...hundreds of hours of their own time. It's a lovely colour now starting along the front. We hope the town appreciates the effort and enjoys the Hall being made viable for the next generation. Feel free to stop by and say "thanks" to these hard working volunteers!

On Saturday, a lovely floral arrangement was delivered to Loudoun House Museum from Mareeba Shire Council with a note of condolence to the Museum and to the whole Irvinebank community on the loss of Shimmo. A thoughtful gesture, and much appreciated.

Thanks to Mareeba Shire Council for their floral tribute to the work of Peter Shimmin which is in the Museum. The Council has been very supportive of Loudoun House and Peter maintaining the grounds of the Museum.
People may not know that Councillors and the Mayor visited Shimmo in hospital. It made a huge difference to Shimmo in his last weeks, and we all in Irvinebank remain grateful to Mayor Toppin, Lenore Wyatt and Amy Braes for spending time with Shimmo while he was unwell. Not many Shire councillors or a Mayor would sit by the bed of a terminally ill person
