Centrelink Volunteers wanted at MIAC
Macleay Island Arts Complex is a community arts organisation that fosters, supports and celebrates creativity on Macleay Island and in the wider community. We welcome all forms of art and creative practice, and we aim to be an inclusive, welcoming and respectful place where people of all ages and abilities can create, learn, teach, exhibit, perform and share their skills.
None of this happens without our volunteers, and we're looking for more.
Are you looking for volunteer work to meet your Centrelink mutual obligation requirements? We have three roles available:
Cafe volunteers: setting up and cleaning up the cafe, serving customers, and preparing simple food and drinks.
Cleaners: helping keep our galleries, studios, bathrooms, and cafe clean and welcoming for everyone who visits.
Front desk gallery attendants: welcoming visitors, answering questions and looking after the front desk, with some light cleaning. This role suits warm, friendly people who enjoy chatting with others.
We're looking for people who are reliable, well presented, friendly and easy to work with, and happy to pitch in. You'll be working as part of a team, and all volunteers are asked to follow our Interim Code of Conduct.
It's a great way to meet people, learn new skills and be part of the island's arts community.
