Located on top of the piano in the refreshments room here at Archer Park Rail Museum is a model of a Beyer-Garrett Steam Locomotive. The model was donated to the museum in 2021 by Mr Hugh Quirke, a former driver of this type of locomotive during his employment with Queensland Rail. The Beyer-Garrett Steam Locomotives were in operation in Queensland between 1950 and June 1968, servicing the North Coast Line between Rockhampton and Brisbane and well as hauling The Midlander between Rockhampton and Emerald. Prior to retirement, they served the Moura coal trains via Mount Morgan prior to the Gladstone line been opened.
