Join us tonight for EARTH GESTURES.

Bringing together the work of two long-standing friends, ceramicist Dr Pippin Drysdale and painter and printmaker Dr Yvonne Rees-Pagh.

Whilst distinct, they share a deep connection to the earth, landscape and traces of lived experience.

Dr Pippin Drysdale, one of Australia’s most celebrated ceramic artists, joins us following ‘Infinite Terrain’, her landmark retrospective at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Working in porcelain, Pippin’s distinctive forms explore colour, line, mark-making and surface.

Yvonne Rees-Pagh, a highly regarded Western Australian artist, curator and educator, brings a celebrated practice spanning painting, printmaking and drawing. Her works reflect a deep connection to landscape and the natural world through colour, texture and gesture.

Together their works invite us to contemplate the dynamic dance between materiality and the artist’s hand.

Join us for the opening of Earth Gestures:

Where: Linton & Kay Galleries, 40 Marine Parade Cottesloe
When: Thursday 1st October - From 6pm
Officially opened by friend, Janet Holmes à Court.

We can’t wait to celebrate the best of colour, form and friendship with you.

For Kiara Rechichi-Baker, Venice is best experienced through its waterways.

From still, quiet mornings to turbulent waters, and even midnight journeys when the city falls silent, Kiara observes the lagoon as it continually changes.

These moments have become an enduring part of her practice, captured through colour, movement and the ever-changing surface of the water.

If you have recently returned from a European summer and found yourself falling a little bit in love with Venice, Held by the Water might just bring some of that feeling home.

Two artists. Two mediums. One conversation with the earth.

EARTH GESTURES
Pippin Drysdale & Yvonne Rees-Pagh

For Earth Gestures, ceramicist Pippin Drysdale and painter/printmaker Yvonne Rees-Pagh come together in a dialogue between weight and movement, permanence and atmosphere.

Pippin’s sculptural ceramics and delicately glazed vessels bring a sense of physical presence to the exhibition, celebrating the transformation of soft clay through fire and glaze.

Alongside them, Yvonne’s paintings unfold through colour, texture and expressive brushwork, translating memory, emotion and imagined landscapes onto canvas.

Together, the works explore the relationship between what we hold and the environments we inhabit, where form, colour and texture connect the two mediums in unexpected ways.

An evening with Kelsey Ashe

Join Kelsey at Linton & Kay Cottesloe for an intimate conversation around The Sun at Midnight - a body of work shaped by the Western Australian landscape, celestial rhythms and the space between what is seen and what is sensed.

Held on the Spring Equinox, the evening offers a fitting moment to experience The Sun at Midnight after dark - when the works begin to reveal another dimension of light.

Kelsey will also share insight into the distinctive materials and techniques behind the works, from botanical pigments and wax-reduction screenprinting to rare earth photoluminescent materials and hand-drawn stencil processes.

Wednesday 23 September · 6:30pm

Free to attend

We expect the evening to be busy, so please RSVP or let us know you are coming.

HELD BY THE WATER

Kalamunda artist Kiara Rechichi-Baker’s ‘Held by the Water’ is now showing at Cherubino Wines, Margaret River.

Inspired by the ever-changing waters of the Laguna Veneta, this new body of work explores the fleeting forms, colours and imagined worlds Kiara discovers across the surface of the Venice Lagoon.

Kiara’s multidisciplinary practice spans printmaking, textiles, mosaic, painting, drawing and photography, with her time at the Venice Printmaking Studio playing a significant role in shaping her ongoing fascination with the lagoon.
