MEET THE MAKER | EL CABALLO LEADLIGHT STUDIO ✨

Sometimes, a creative passion begins with the simplest of ideas.

For Graham, the story of El Caballo Leadlight Studio begun nine years ago when he and his wife owned Pecan Hill B&B. Looking for a way to fill some empty wall spaces in the guest rooms, Graham decided to learn the art of stained glass.

What started as a practical project soon blossomed into something much more, a lasting passion for working with glass and creating pieces that bring colour, character and light into a space.

Today, Graham lives in Wundowie, where he has his own studio behind El Caballo. From here, he creates both leadlight and laser-etched glass pieces, combining different techniques to produce distinctive designs.

His work includes colourful leadlight suncatchers, featuring everything from intricate patterns to beautiful birds, butterflies and decorative designs. Each piece offers its own way to bring a little colour into your home, particularly when sunlight shines through the glass and brings those colours to life. ☀️

Alongside the pieces he creates for sale, Graham can also make items to order, giving customers the opportunity to request something more personal.

It’s a lovely reminder that sometimes the things we start simply out of necessity can grow into something we never expected — and that a little curiosity can lead to a whole new creative journey.

MEET THE MAKER | EARTH SCULPTURES 🤎

For Paula Greenway, clay is more than a material to work with. It’s a way to bring imagination to life, one carefully shaped detail at a time.

For more than 20 years, Paula has been creating distinctive, handmade pottery, developing a style filled with character, texture and a touch of whimsy. From expressive faces and woodland-inspired figures to her much-loved sculptures, her work celebrates the beauty of creating something by hand.

Nature plays a central role in Paula’s creative process. Drawn to earthy tones and organic textures, she embraces the individuality of each piece, shaping every detail by hand rather than relying on moulds. Her signature owl sculptures, for example, are built and textured individually, with each one developing its own expression and personality.

Based in the peaceful countryside of West Toodyay, Paula has created more than a collection of pottery. Alongside her artwork, she welcomes people into her studio to experience the creative process for themselves, sharing her knowledge through relaxed, hands-on workshops where beginners are encouraged to experiment, explore and discover what they can create.

It’s this combination of creativity, craftsmanship and connection to nature that makes Earth Sculptures such a wonderful part of Toodyay’s creative community.

MEET THE MAKER:

🐪 DROMEDAIRY BODY + SKIN 🌿

What started with three young camels has grown into a unique Australian business with a mission that goes far beyond skincare.
Founder Dr. Max Bergmann always dreamed of running his own farm. Despite living with Retinitis Pigmentosa and being almost fully blind, Max has continued to take on incredible challenges, including competing in the Paralympics twice and completing a PhD in Agricultural Science.
His journey eventually led him to three camels:

Elke, Petra and Rita.

While milking his camels, Max noticed how soft his hardworking hands became when the milk touched his skin. After researching the benefits of camel milk, the idea for DromeDairy Body + Skin was born.

Today, DromeDairy is committed to ethical camel farming, gentle trust-based training and sustainable practices - while working towards a future that helps build a valuable industry for Australia's camels!
