🎨 Calling all young artists in Years 9–12! 🎨

This is a fantastic initiative that brings generations together through art, conversation and storytelling.

Students are invited to create a portrait of a resident from Umina Park Burnie, OneCare community, with completed works to be showcased in a special exhibition at Burnie Library in October!

What I particularly love about this project is that it encourages young people to meet and connect with a resident before putting brush to canvas. Behind every portrait is a story, a life lived and an opportunity to build understanding across generations.

👥 Categories: Years 9–10 and Years 11–12
đź“… Entries close: 5 October
🏆 Judging: 15 October during Seniors Week
đź’° Cash prizes to be won

Whether you’re an aspiring artist, an art student, or a teacher looking for a meaningful class project, I encourage you to get involved.

Art has a wonderful way of connecting people, and this competition is a beautiful example of that in action.

Please share with any young person, teacher or school who may be interested. đź’™
