Andrew’s tractor 🚜 exhibition, just in time for Father’s Day. He is having an opening on Saturday, 5th September, at noon. 🗓️
Andrew Scott is a retired academic (industrial design). He loves sketching but doesn’t really think of himself as an ‘artist’. Despite being a keen participant in the urban sketching movement, he prefers drawing machines more than buildings, and since the Tasmanian landscape is littered with ‘retired’ farm machinery, it offers ample grist for sketches.
These digital works begin with photographs and follow a selective tracing process, identifying areas of high contrast light and shade, minimal colour, and stylised backgrounds. This is a manual process using Procreate on an iPad, and no AI tools were used. Without seeking to anthropomorphise, these works are intended to honour these hard-working machines and the service they’ve rendered on the land.
