What an incredible journey this residency has been.

Over the past few days, we shared ideas, challenged each other, and spent time really digging into the heart of each story. There were moments of doubt, discovery, laughter, and clarity—and that’s what made this experience so special. Seeing each project grow, and each participant gain confidence in their voice, has been truly rewarding.

And of course, it wouldn’t be the same without the people who made it memorable in their own unique ways—

Mr. Azhar has a unique talent for making incredible milk tea, which we all enjoyed throughout the residency.
Citto Anondi became the unofficial host of the Bangalaw, always in charge of the door keys.
Mr. Sumon Delwar and Mr. Kazi stayed up until 3am, diving deep into conversations about the world.
Mr. Kamrul Ahsan was constantly immersed in preparing his presentation.
Mr. Rupom remained the quiet observer—the silent learner among us.

We had a very productive and engaging residency, where we focused on key elements of the participants’ projects. In particular, we worked on identifying the essential story points to be included in their elevator pitches. We also refined their pitch decks, discussed appropriate budgeting and financing plans (following the non-fiction core application budget template), and explored international positioning through European and US co-production scenarios to strengthen their understanding of the global industry.

Bangladeshi Stories Head to Cannes Docs 2026

Bisubo Art Organization proudly announces the selection of four Bangladeshi documentary film projects for Cannes Docs, the prestigious documentary platform of the Cannes Film Festival. This initiative is supported by the French PICC grant, in collaboration with Alliance Française Chittagong and Dhaka DocLab.

The announcement was officially unveiled at the closing ceremony of the Chattogram International Documentary Film Festival (CIDFF) 2026, sparking excitement and anticipation among filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts in attendance.

Following a transparent and rigorous jury evaluation process, four standout projects were selected, each reflecting the richness of contemporary Bangladeshi storytelling, grounded in social realities and carrying strong international relevance.

Selected Projects:
Opekkha by Kazi Arefin Ahmed - Development
Blue-Collars from the Frontline by Citto Aanondi (Sumaiya Binte Selim) - Development
In Search of Her by S M Kamrul Ahsan - Development
My Cousin by Sumon Delwar - Work-in-Progress

The selection process prioritized artistic excellence, originality of vision, and global market potential. Bisubo Art Organization emphasized that the jury’s expertise and commitment ensured a fair, thoughtful, and meaningful outcome.

Cannes Docs serves as a vital global hub for documentary professionals—bringing together filmmakers, producers, broadcasters, and distributors. Participation in this platform opens doors for international co-production, distribution, and long-term creative collaborations.

By announcing this milestone at CIDFF, Bisubo Art Organization reinforces a powerful message: Bangladeshi stories are no longer confined by borders—they are steadily claiming their place on the global stage.

Bisubo, in collaboration with Alliance Française Chittagong, host an intensive four-day residency and mentorship program from 3–6 April 2026. Led by Tanim Ibne Yousuf, the program is designed to support selected filmmakers in preparing for international industry platforms such as Cannes Docs.
After residency will also include mentorship from Heidi Fleisher, who will guide participants on how to navigate the market and maximize opportunities during the event.

Got a condition? A feeling? A perfectly unexplainable disorder?
Walk into ঔষধ || Medicine and walk out with a prescription for your sadness, chaos, overthinking, or unnamed emotional symptoms.

This collaborative exhibition lets you pick your own cure. Side effects may include laughter, reflection, and unexpected joy.

We also had an amazing time at the workshop creating, sharing, and overdosing on good conversations.
Visit the exhibition at Alliance Française de Chittagong.
25-27 January (4pm - 8 pm).
