Mohammad Iqbal (Bangladeshi Visual Artist)

Mohammad Iqbal is a distinguished Bangladeshi visual artist, educator, and contemporary painter known for his expressive figurative and semi-abstract works. Born in Chuadanga, Bangladesh, in 1967, he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, and later earned advanced degrees, including a PhD in Oil Painting from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan. His paintings often explore human emotions, spirituality, peace, social struggles, and the lives of marginalized people. Characterized by vibrant colors, layered textures, and symbolic motifs, his artworks have been exhibited internationally. Iqbal is also a professor at the University of Dhaka.

Jean-Michel Basquiat (22 December 1960 – 12 August 1988) was an influential American artist known for his neo-expressionist paintings and graffiti-inspired style. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he first gained attention in the late 1970s through street art under the name “SAMO.” His artworks combined text, symbols, bold colors, and expressive figures to explore themes of race, identity, power, history, and social inequality. Basquiat quickly rose to international fame during the 1980s and collaborated with artist Andy Warhol. Despite his short life, his creativity transformed contemporary art.
