আজ রায়েরবাজার কবরস্থানে অবস্থিত জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের শহীদদের গণকবরে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন ও পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করেন জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থান স্মৃতি জাদুঘরের মহাপরিচালক জনাব এহসান মাহমুদ।
এসময় তার সাথে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জুলাই জাদুঘরের একটি প্রতিনিধি দল। পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ শেষে উপস্থিত সকলেই কিছু সময় নীরবতা পালন করেন এবং অভ্যুত্থানের বীর শহীদদের স্মৃতির প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন করেন।
এরপর চব্বিশের গণ-অভ্যুত্থানে জীবন উৎসর্গ করা সকল শহীদের আত্মার মাগফেরাত ও শান্তি কামনা করে দোয়া করা হয়। মোনাজাতে শহীদ পরিবারের শোকসন্তপ্ত স্বজনদের এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি সহ্য করার শক্তি ও ধৈর্য কামনা করা হয়।
মোনাজাত শেষে জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের স্মৃতি ও আদর্শকে ধরে রাখার গুরুত্ব নিয়ে সংক্ষিপ্ত আলোচনা করেন জুলাই জাদুঘরের মহাপরিচালক। তিনি উল্লেখ করেন, বিগত ফ্যাসিবাদী শাসনামলে সংঘটিত এই গণহত্যা এদেশের ইতিহাসের অন্যতম নৃশংস ও বর্বরতম অধ্যায় হিসেবে চিহ্নিত হয়ে থাকবে।
জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের সময় পতনোম্মুখ স্বৈরাচারী শাসক গণহত্যার নির্মম সত্য গোপন করতে লাশ গুম করার মতো জঘন্যতম অপরাধে লিপ্ত হয়েছিল।
জাদুঘরের চলমান সংগ্রহ ও গবেষণা কার্যক্রমের মধ্য দিয়ে এই বর্বরোচিত ইতিহাসকে ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের কাছে বস্তুনিষ্ঠভাবে তুলে ধরার দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেন তিনি।

Today, Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum, Ehasan Mahamud, paid tribute and laid a floral wreath at the mass graves of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising at Rayerbazar Cemetery.
A delegation from the July Museum accompanied him during the occasion. Following the wreath-laying, all present observed a moment of silence in honor of the heroic martyrs of the uprising.
A special prayer was then offered seeking the eternal peace and salvation of the departed souls of all who sacrificed their lives during the 2024 Mass Uprising. Prayers were also made for the bereaved families, asking for their strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Following the prayer, the Director General briefly discussed the importance of preserving the memory and ideals of the July Mass Uprising. He noted that the genocide committed under the autocratic fascist regime will remain marked as one of the most brutal and horrific chapters in the nation's history.
He further emphasized that during the uprising, the falling authoritarian regime resorted to heinous crimes such as the concealment and secret disposal of bodies to hide the brutal truth of the massacre.
He reaffirmed a strong commitment to presenting this tragic history objectively to future generations through the museum's ongoing archive collection and research efforts.
