MACADAM GALLERY est installée au 58, Place du Jeu de Balle à 1000 Bruxelles dans les locaux de l'ancienne caserne des pompiers de la Ville de Bruxelles construite en 1853 par Joseph Poelaert, architecte renommé du Palais de Justice échafaudé et surplombant le quartier des Marolles. Espace aujourd'hui réaménagé par la Ville, MACADAM GALLERY s'inscrit dans le projet urbanistique ayant pour objectif

de redynamiser le quartier des Marolles, symbole d'une authenticité bruxelloise. MACADAM GALLERY étend son projet sur une surface de plain-pied de 120m2 et 40m2 de cave dédiée à la présentation d’œuvres d'art contemporain et à l'organisation de divers évènements artistiques. La partie avant de la galerie, d'une hauteur de 4,5 mètres, offre également la place aux sculpteurs pour y installer leurs œuvres monumentales. Trois grandes baies vitrées s'ouvrent sur une terrasse pavée, exclusivement piétonnière, sur laquelle les enfants pourront, le temps d'une visite ensoleillée, gambader à cœur joie.

Now on view at the gallery : “Across the fields” by Gaël Davrinche

In his “Les (Re)visités series”, Davrinche reimagines the classics of art history, drawing inspiration from the great masters of painting. Rather than creating serious or ostentatious works, he brings a playful energy to his reinterpretations, exaggerating elements of their compositions in a lighthearted way. This series allowed him to engage deeply with art history, while also freeing himself from its constraints, reflecting on his place within the broader art world. This study of classics, notably of the traditions of portraiture and still lifes, bleeds through in the rest of his corpus.

In her ceramic practice, Åsa Johansson is playing with geometry, pushing material limits through casting. The artist contrasts soft, colorful glazes with strict forms, balancing precision and spontaneity. Spatiality and negative space shape her work, while the kiln’s unpredictability gives each piece a unique expression.

Tomislav Topic’s murals go beyond the boundaries of the genre of painting and prove that his abstract non-representational style works exceptionally well both in small gallery format and on monumental walls.

For more than a decade, Topic’s artistic work has received increasing international recognition. Since then, he has been able to present his works, installations and murals to the public in festivals, exhibitions and artist residencies in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Mauritius, Qatar, Georgia, the USA and China.
