AKIKO KURIHARA'S
work are returning to Japan!

This Friday and Saturday are the LAST DAYS that the work of Akiko Kurihara is in gallery Pont & Plas.

It is with both admiration and a touch of sadness that we wish to inform you that the work of our beloved artist Akiko Kurihara will soon no longer be on display or for sale at Galerie Pont en Plas. Akiko and her unique, humorous and technically impressive work will return to Japan, where she will take new steps in her artistic journey. We are grateful for the beauty, subtlety, colorful jewellery and wonder she has shared with us and our visitors. We wish Akiko every success and inspiration in this new chapter and hope to welcome her work again in the future.

LAST DAYS

‘I've lived in many different places. Everytime I go to a new city, I have a new home. However, when I left, I lost my homes again and again. When I moved, the furniture that really built the feeling of home that I can’t take with has become my regret. This lack of identity left me feeling empty. I never properly said goodbye to the past, but always rushed to the next place quickly. In this project, I want to make a farewell ceremony for my attachment with the memories of the past, and re-examine the meaning of the existence of objects.’
