‘Interference landscape’ by .del.conte opens on Saturday 9/5. Most welcome from 16:00 until 20:00!

The exhibition shows the new work ‘After Carleton Watkins’, a series that pays tribute to the great 19th-century American photographer. Drawing from the vastness of digital online archives and created using an experimental process he developed at the intersection of digital and analog technologies, the photographs propose a multilayered approach that rethinks how the landscape can be represented.
These works will be presented in dialogue with the series ‘Skyglow’, a long-term project that examines the impact of light pollution on sky observation while also questioning the objective nature of photography, and the possibility of producing reliable visual documents.

During the finissage pianist will play and improvise at 16:00 starting from 𝐁 𝟒𝟗𝟑.𝟖𝟖𝟒𝐇𝐳. This score is an audio transcription of the soundtrack from 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 (2012), produced by Marij Somers (transcription) in collaboration with Annelies Van Parys (annotations).

A look at our website shows that the majority of the exhibitions at Gris Gallery are made by woman. There was no specific idea or strategy, it just happened like that. The only focus is the quality of the work and the stories that need to be told.

FALERA is a multimedial installation relating to a particular moment during a summer walk in the Swiss region of Graubünden. An unexpected storm and its visual aftermath are the setting in which a poetic movement unfolds.

Throughout the winter months, Galerie Gris became the atelier of artist .
We warmly invite you to the finissage, where sound artist will delight us with a live concert. This performance features work from his latest album, Studio Music. A slow-paced work full of introspective passages performed on shells, cornet, and electronics. Music that invites stillness. His music embodies the tension between vulnerability and strength, between the individual and the universal. This also characterizes Eechaut’s work, as does the presence of nature, our deepest essence.

Sarah Eechaut (b. 1983, lives and works in Ghent) visualises magic in its most diverse forms — from objects, textiles and installations to lithographic stones, prints and lettering. Her artistic practice unfolds within a subtle field of tension between mystery and familiarity, sensual joie de vivre and solitude. It dances from a wild core and connects mind and body, time and space.
