Gris Gallery presents contemporary visual art, starting from photography.

It’s s been quiet on this page for a while now. This summer we moved from the place where it all started to this beautiful new spot in Sint Amandsberg.
Glas is already up and running for some months and the gallery is preparing the first show with skoric. Opening on 31 October!

There is still some work to do, but the boxes are getting empty and everything starts to fall into place.

We are looking forward to open our doors to welcome you gain, stay tuned!

This Sunday, July 5, is the finissage of - 𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧 by Karmen Vermeulen en Tomas Uyttendaele. The final exhibition at the current location and the end of a wonderful chapter!

Welcome between 14:00 and 18:00 for a final glass at the bar and a talk with the artists.

Music will be served by: Grijsgedraaid soundsystem, The party reddertjes, Helter skelter soundsystem and Interior View!

This weekend we are open on Saturday and ons Sunday between 14:00 and 18:00.

Most welcome for a visit to - 𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧 by Karmen Vermeulen (2nd image) & Tomas Uyttendaele (1st image).

Through photography, text, and an artist’s book, the exhibition explores what arises when something once familiar changes, disappears, or is no longer a given. What endures? What shifts? And what new forms present themselves when old ones lose their meaning?

- 𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧 emerged from personal experiences around the loss of a nuclear family, while also seeking something more broadly recognizable. The work touches on themes such as neurodiversity, parenthood, absence, care, and the search for alternative ways of living together. Not through explanations or positions, but through images, fragments, and traces that invite recognition, reflection, and conversation.

The exhibition moves between seeing and expressing, between what has been and what has yet to be named, and makes space for what resists being pinned down: memories, longings, fault lines, and resilience.

Last day tot visit ‘Interference landscape’ by .del.conte. Welcome from 14:00 till 18:00!

‘Interference landscape’ by .del.conte opens on Saturday 9/5. Most welcome from 16:00 until 20:00!

The exhibition shows the new work ‘After Carleton Watkins’, a series that pays tribute to the great 19th-century American photographer. Drawing from the vastness of digital online archives and created using an experimental process he developed at the intersection of digital and analog technologies, the photographs propose a multilayered approach that rethinks how the landscape can be represented.
These works will be presented in dialogue with the series ‘Skyglow’, a long-term project that examines the impact of light pollution on sky observation while also questioning the objective nature of photography, and the possibility of producing reliable visual documents.
