Christophe Lezaire (b. 1963, Brussels) is a Belgian artist based in Brussels whose practice centers on collecting, deconstructing, and re assembling everyday materials into thoughtful, poetic compositions. He repurposes found objects—often colorful and seemingly playful—into works that explore memory, communication, identity, and the subtle signals objects carry, inviting viewers to reflect on what lies beneath the surface of the familiar.

Dirk Zoete (b. 1969) is a Belgian artist whose work grows from drawing — the foundation of a universe filled with plants, invented characters, architectural forms and staged scenarios. His practice embraces playful experimentation and continual reworking: sketches become models, models return to drawings, and images evolve through repetition and variation. Zoete's oeuvre spans a wide spectrum of media – from drawings, sculptures, and installations to printing techniques, (stop motion) films and, since 2023, paintings on canvas and panel.

Joris Ghekiere (1955–2016, Kortrijk, Belgium) was a Belgian painter whose singular and prolific practice resisted easy categorisation. Ghekiere did not adhere to a single method or visual language; he explored a wide range of painting techniques and stylistic approaches throughout his career, allowing both figurative and abstract imagery to interact and resonate within his work.

Starting often from sources such as internet imagery or his own photographs, Ghekiere worked with materials and compositions that blend immediacy with reflection, surface with suggestion. His oeuvre moves fluidly between modes, at times invoking familiar motifs and at others veering into ambiguous abstraction. This openness and multiplicity became characteristic of his painting — each canvas pivoting between recognition and reinvention.

Ghekiere’s work has been presented in numerous exhibitions and his legacy continues to be maintained by the Joris Ghekiere Foundation (). His contributions to contemporary painting remain admired for their restless curiosity and formal inventiveness.

The process of Berlin-based artist Katrin Bremermann () is deeply contemplative: working on waxed paper, she waxes both sides to create a translucent, almost architectural surface, then layers enamel to evoke tension between depth and flatness.

We are delighted to announce ‘Fiha ma fiha’, Marie Zolamian's (b. 1975, Beirut | lives and works in Liège) first exhibition with the gallery. Bringing together a new body of paintings, the exhibition follows her acclaimed solo presentation at WIELS earlier this year. Opening next Sunday 6 September 2026 in the presence of the artist.

For German artist Thomas Müller (b. 1959, Frankfurt) drawing is an endless field of experimentation. Müller works exclusively on paper — combining pencil, ink, crayon, oil, and marker to create delicate, abstract structures that are at once autonomous compositions and fragments of a larger whole. His works often transcend the frame of the paper, reaching toward neighboring formations in an open, grid-like dialogue.

Nothing is predetermined. The drawings emerge from the void — without preconceived components, without a fixed destination. Whether through dynamic lines evoking the macroscopic details of a wave, or in extremely reduced compositions with just a few markings: each work expresses a yearning for complementary structures.

Tuukka Tammisaari (b. 1984) is a Finnish painter whose practice privileges rhythm, repetition and improvisation. His compositions emerge through direct engagement with the canvas: bold gestures, compressed marks and saturated blocks of color accumulate into visual structures that feel both playful and architectural. Motifs are revisited, reworked and layered, producing paintings that seem to vibrate between spontaneity and order.

Agnes Maes (1942–2016, Belgium) moves between figuration and abstraction with a deeply sensual command of colour, light, and brushstroke. Trained by Roger Raveel and in regular dialogue with Raoul De Keyser, she developed a language distinctly her own — rooted in the play of light and shadow across architectural space, often enriched with Latin inscriptions which could guide or misguide the viewer's gaze and understanding. Translucent painted screens, laid over one or more passages on the canvas, draw the viewer into the space behind the image. Edith Doove called her work "grievously underrecognised"; Bert Popelier put it more bluntly: "Agnes Maes is a master."

Her work is held in numerous private collections. Public collections include Museum Voorlinden (Wassenaar), Mu.ZEE (Ostend), Musée d'Ixelles (Brussels), Mudel (Deinze), the Collection of the Federal State, the Collection of the Flemish Community, Collection Nationale Bank, Collection DEXIA, The Peter Stuyvesant Collection, and Collection Centraal Beheer (Apeldoorn).

Veerle Beckers (°1976, Belgium | lives and works in Ghent) is a painter whose work springs from a rich inner life. Trained in painting techniques, fresco and restoration, she carries a deeply ingrained technical mastery that is never an end in itself, but woven into every fibre of her work. She paints, as her husband David Peleman () writes, 'for her daily bread' — a metaphor that reaches further than the proverbial: what she takes in ferments slowly and rises from within, like good bread.

Her canvases are built up over weeks of devoted work. Countless base layers of paint form a painted landscape before any image appears. When that image finally arrives, it comes as something inevitable — static, frozen in time, prised loose from its context like an artefact. Objects, figures, architectural fragments, body parts, garments without bodies: they appear with precision yet breathe a near-tangible absence. The colours echo the muted shimmer of medieval murals and filter through the layers. Those layers are not a ground but a casing: they enclose the image, hold it in place, and yield it up only reluctantly. The image lies deeply embedded within the painting — as though the painter hesitates to share her innermost stirrings with the world.

Jeff McMillan () allows paint to become time, revealing its true form through exposure. He stretches thin layers of oil on antique linen and leaves them on his studio’s outer wall, letting nature—sun, rain, birds, snails, pollution—slowly shape the surface before retrieving them as “ripe” works of art.
