A century ahead of its time.

Poul Henningsen’s 1931 Grand Piano, its extraordinary matching stool, and his iconic 1927 floor lamp.

Three remarkable pieces, still strikingly modern today.

On view in Knokke, open daily until 6 September.

From Rio to New Hope — in perfect harmony.

With Poul Henningsen’s piano in the background, Brazilian and American design come together almost like a composition — different voices, different rhythms, yet a natural sense of balance.

Our summer exhibition continues in Knokke, open daily until 6 September.

Vico Magistretti for Venini

A play of geometry, balance and light.

Designed by Vico Magistretti for Venini, this lamp brings together the precision of modern Italian design and the extraordinary tradition of Murano glassmaking. Simple in form, yet remarkably sophisticated in presence.

On view in our current seaside exhibition, From Rio to New Hope, open daily until 6 September.

African art has been a lifelong passion of mine. I love using great furniture as a pedestal for African sculpture.

Here, a beautiful Hemba ancestor fragment from Zaire, formerly in the collection of the late Hélène Leloup, one of the great dealers and collectors of African art, sits on a Jules Wabbes console from 1968.

I love the contrast between the two. They are strong in completely different ways, but both have this incredible sense of emotion and soul.

On view in Knokke until 6 September.

Architecture as furniture.

This unique console was designed by Jules Wabbes in collaboration with architect Jan Vlug in 1968. Monumental in scale yet remarkably restrained, its rigorous wooden structure supports an imposing marble top, creating a powerful dialogue between architecture, material and proportion.

A singular expression of Wabbes’ ability to bring architectural discipline to furniture while preserving an extraordinary sense of elegance.

On view in our current seaside exhibition, From Rio to New Hope, open daily until 6 September.
