Mill42

Mill42 Our Story Mill42 is an exhibition space in one of Belgium's oldest mills featuring talents from all over the world. It changed from owners in 1965 and in 1981.

The original company name was Manufacture Franco Belge de Tapis. The company was founded in Lauwe by the family Blaublomme in 1923 and then transferred to Wevelgem for weaving carpet and rugs. The first buildings are from 1923, with an addition of the weaving part in 1927 and a dye house in 1929. In 1950 it expanded more with a spinning plant in 1953 and a new dye house in 1957. Just before the wo

rld war of 1939/1945 it employed 410 people. The dyehouse and spinning plant were stopped and the weaving mill continues under the new name of New Franco Belge. In 1994, I bought the company from the Descheemaecker family. Pascal Meersschaert
