Een jong en dynamisch curatoren-collectief dat je iedere maand een nieuwe, opkomende kunstenaar voo Curating the Young is een project van AmuseeVous.

Wij zijn Curating the Young, een jong en dynamisch curatoren-collectief. We eisen ruimte op in de cultuursector voor aanstormend talent door beginnende kunstenaars een podium te geven. Hierbij staat het twaalfkoppige team in voor alle bijhorende zaken: het scouten van kunstenaars, de opbouw van de expo, de communicatie op social media, de publieksbemiddeling en de verkoop. Curating the Young is gehuisvest in het Openbaar Entrepot voor de Kunsten (OPEK) in Leuven.

💙 Here are 5 reasons why you should visit Meander this week:

1. First things first: get walking! Despite the colder weather, it’s important take in some fresh air! The exhibition urges you to take a little stroll around the renewed Vaartkom area of approximately 20 minutes, an ideal study or work break! 🥾

2. Get educated! Meander not only introduces you to upcoming international and Belgian artists, but also teaches you something about science, ecology, history, and even challenges you to think about the future. 🤓

3. Get creative! Besides the exhibition, we organise fun, lowkey workshops, for free! Last week, we’ve experimented with cyanotypes, but upcoming Thursday (17:00, at The Garage in OPEK) we’ll craft lanterns that we’ll immediately test during a guided tour afterwards. The perfect creative evening! 🏮

4. Get together! The exhibition is an opportunity to meet with friends or family. End the art walk with a hot chocolate or tasty spaghetti bolo at Café Entrepot. Or join us at the finissage upcoming Saturday (14:00), where you can enjoy coffee, tea, snacks, and listen to an interesting artist talk! ☕️

5. 5. Get curious! As Meander is a part of the Fringe Festival, you can combine your walk with other cultural activities and exhibitions, and get to now other Leuven-based organisations. You can find the full program at , have fun! 🌀

✨POV: making a moodboard for your upcoming lantern making workshop by CTY✨

After the success of our cyanotype workshop, we’re hosting a second one! This time, we’ll get crafty and make our own unique paper 𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓼 — a cozy get-together with some tea on the side.

Everybody is welcome 🧡

After the workshop we’ll head out for a guided tour through the exhibition, our lanterns lighting the way! 🧙‍♀️

🌀We’re looking back at the first few days of 𝓜𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻, our vernissage and the cyanotype workshop!

💙Thank you so much for attending this joyous opening evening, participating in the cosy workshop, and – above all – meandering around the Vaartkom area and discovering the art!

🌀We’re happy to announce the public program for Meander!🌀

Everything is FREE and there is no notice needed, just come!

𝓥𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓪𝓰𝓮: a fun evening where we visit the exhibition together with the artists. Each artist will proudly guide us through their work. Everyone is free to stay and join us for a drink after, and have a dance to some nice tunes!

𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓴𝓼𝓱𝓸𝓹𝓼 𝓬𝔂𝓪𝓷𝓸𝓽𝔂𝓹𝓮 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓷 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰: both workshops are free. You can just come by, and have fun!

𝓕𝓲𝓷𝓲𝓼𝓼𝓪𝓰𝓮: join us for a warm cup of tea or coffee, some snacks and a lot of cozy vibes 🙂 At 15:00 there is an artist talk where , .guillemant and will discuss their work.

🌿🌀🍁An iconic collab is cooking…
Curating the Young and Bric-à-Brak will be organising a workshop together during CTY’s exhibition 𝓜𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻!

On November 22nd, at 13u30, we’ll make use of the last rays of autumnal sunshine to experiment with 𝓬𝔂𝓪𝓷𝓸𝓽𝔂𝓹𝓮! The possibilities can be endless: from creating early Christmas cards to immortalising your favourite trinkets on paper.

🌀 𝓜𝓮𝓮𝓽 𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓼 🌀 𝓐𝓷𝓷𝓪 𝓕𝓻𝓪𝓷𝔃𝓮𝓷

We are thrilled to announce our fourth artist, Anna Franzen (she/her) for our exposition Meander.

Anna is a visual artist, working with textiles,
performance, installation and photography. In her latest project she hatched a kombucha
scoby, big as a blanket. One day they went swimming together in a lake—blurring the
borders between scoby and skin.

Her artwork is exhibited from 20 November till 5 December in Leuven as part of our upcoming exposition Meander. Taking place in the scenery of the Vaartkom, Sluispark and Engels Plein.

We are thrilled to announce our third artist Charis Way-Way () for our exhibition Meander!

Her work is based on analogue processes, memory, and the archive as a space of resistance. For Meander, she created Echoes of Presence. Using polaroids and 35mm film, she built a mini-archive of encounters, traces, and moments that breathe life into the Vaartkom.

Her artwork is exhibited from 20 November till 5 December in Leuven as part of our upcoming exposition Meander, taking place in the scenery of the Vaartkom, Sluispark and Engels Plein.

We are thrilled to announce Vanda Vlasic as our first artist for our exhibition Meander!

As a researcher and multidisciplinary artist, she invites you to wander around in a not-so-distant world. She creates colourful spaces with a main focus on sculptures.
