enaars van over heel de wereld bevordert. Hierbij staan haar tentoonstellingen en de verzameling en het beheer van de stedelijke glaskunstcollectie centraal. (EN) As a dynamic art institution, GlazenHuis promotes glass in all its facets and shows that you can make of glass anything you want: an object or painting, bronze or gemstone, art or design, unique or everyday, colourful or transparent. GlazenHuis is an open house for art, artists and the public, encouraging artistic encounters and promoting cultural exchanges between artists from all over the world. Its exhibitions and collecting and managing the urban glass art collection are central to its mission.

NL: Het startschot van de vernieuwbouw GlazenHuis en Visit Lommel is gegeven! De bouwhekken zijn geplaatst, de eerste speeches zijn gegeven en het team is klaar voor actie 👏 De vernieuwbouw in 't kort:

▪️Ambachtelijk glasatelier krijgt plek aan dorpsplein
▪️Iconisch glazen gebouw wordt toeristisch en museaal onthaal
▪️Gevels van Lommelzand creëren samenhangend geheel
▪️Huis Aerts wordt in ere hersteld als vrijstaand historisch gebouw
▪️Een verviervoudiging van expo oppervlakte

EN: The kick-off for the renovation of GlazenHuis and Visit Lommel has officially taken place! The construction fences are up, the first speeches have been delivered, and the team is ready to get to work 👏 A quick overview of what’s coming:

▪️ The artisanal glass studio will take stage at the village square
▪️ The iconic glass building will become the tourist and museum reception area
▪️ Facades made of Lommel sand will create a visibly cohesive whole
▪️ The protected monument House Aerts will be restored to its original status
▪️ The exhibition space will be quadrupled

NL: De imposante gouden meteoriet van Matthew Szosz tentoongesteld in de toren van GlazenHuis, is opgenomen in het boek 'MirrorMirror: The Reflective Surface in Contemporary Art'. Michael Petry presenteert een overzicht van meer dan 150 kunstenaars en hun "reflecterend" werk. Het boek verschijnt in februari 2025.
EN: The impressive golden meteorite by Matthew Szosz, displayed in the tower of GlazenHuis, is featured in the book 'MirrorMirror: The Reflective Surface in Contemporary Art'. Michael Petry presents an overview of more than 150 artists and their "reflective" works. The book will be released in February 2025.
