🇺🇸A great visit from friends Pierre & Jennifer Oury, as well as MSgt Brad Harris and SMSgt Juan Sanchez-Ramirez from NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen. It was 10 years ago that Marcel & I attended Colonel Oury’s Air Force retirement!

🇧🇪superbe visite de nos amis Pierre et Jennifer Oury, ainsi que du sergent-chef Brad Harris et du sergent-chef Juan Sanchez-Ramirez, de la base aérienne de l'OTAN à Geilenkirchen. Cela fait déjà dix ans que Marcel et moi avons assisté à la cérémonie de départ à la retraite du colonel Oury !

🇺🇸A emotional ceremony this year for the "Pickelpuss", the B17 crash that Marcel witnessed on 17 Aug 1943. This was the first ceremony without him present. A special thanks to thank Mr Scheen and Mr Ganzer, Councillors of Plombières, the different presidents of Patriotic Associations. Thanks also to MSgt Brad Harris, USAF, Major Breuer, and to the many flag bearers who are always present.

🇧🇪Une cérémonie pleine d'émotion cette année pour le « Pickelpuss », le B-17 dont Marcel avait été témoin du crash le 17 août 1943. C'était la première cérémonie qui se déroulait en son absence. Un remerciement tout particulier à MM. Scheen et Ganzer, chevins de la commune de Plombières, ainsi qu'aux différents présidents d'associations patriotiques. Merci également au sergent-chef Brad Harris (USAF), au Commandant Breuer et aux nombreux porte-drapeaux toujours présents.

🇺🇸On Monday, May 25—to mark Memorial Day—I placed bouquets of red, white and blue flowers on 20 tombs of soldiers laid to rest at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial. In doing so, I was assisted by American friends: Jeff and Jackie Hays, David Garrett (the son of a veteran friend from the 99th Infantry Division), and Matt Valentino, the ANGLO for Geilenkirchen, with his wife and their young daughter, Sophie.

🇧🇪Le lundi 25 mai, afin de marquer le Mémorial Day officiel aux
Etats-Unis, j'ai placé des bouquets bleu, blanc, rouge sur 20 tombes de soldats reposant au cimetière américain d'Henri-Chapelle. Ce faisant, j'ai été aidée par des amis américains: Jeff et Jackie, Hays, David Garrett qui est le fils d'un ami vétéran de la 99ème Division
d'Infanterie et Matt Valentino qui est l'ANGLO de Geilenkirchen.
Celui-çi était présent avec son épouse et leur petite fille: Sophie.
