BIN - Patersstraat 55

BIN - Patersstraat 55 The Belgian Institute for Normalization is looking forward to keeping in touch with you.

For one year only, the Belgian Institute of Normalisation (BIN), a group visual artists and thinkers, has occupied the former Zellien showroom complex in Turnhout, Belgium. Zellien, a wholesale in sanitary en heating equipment, had a long history in the heart of Turnhout before moving to a site outside town. BIN brushes off the dust that had settled on the vacated showroom: remodelling the former

depot into studios and the former showroom into an exhibition space. The Belgian Institute of Normalisation invites guest to intervene in this space in order to research norms and standards in art and artistic practice. Four principal exhibitions organised by BIN's curators will provide a framework for the year: the first exhibition will open on the 7th of August 2015 and will focus on normalization in a social context and how this can be the basis for artistic research and analysis.
