Organizers: Pedro Brugado, Jean-Paul van der Poorten and TaLe Art Gallery

The event focuses on the interaction between three art forms and demonstrates how they inspire and influence one another.

34 artists from all Flemish provinces have engaged in a dialogue with PEDRO BRUGADA’s poetic statement on the rhythm of the heart and with the poems.
Several textile artists are on view in the Church, 60 paintings, sculptures and mixed media are on view at the gallery.

PRESENTATION AND OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION
♦ Sunday, June 7 – 3:00 PM │ Doors open at 2:00 PM
♦ St. Fledericus Church and TaLe Art Gallery

PROGRAM FOR THE OPENING RECEPTION - JUNE 7:
♦ JEF VERMASSEN will present the poetry and visual arts publication.
♦ The Ghent District Highlanders (bagpipers), the Sint-Ceciliakoor of Vlierzele conducted by Johan De Vos, Pascal Podevyn (guitar), Hans Van Gysegem (piano and organ), and Filip Van Keer (belleman/percussion soloist/tenor) will provide the musical accompaniment.
♦ Poems and poetic texts will be read by Pedro Brugada, Hervé Claeys, G***t Decabooter, Jean-Paul van der Poorten, Jef Vermassen, and Elia Vermeulen.
♦ Pedro Brugada and Jean-Paul van der Poorten will read the poem “Ode to Vlierzele.”
♦ Hervé Claeys will auction off the work “Fugit irreparabile tempus” by Pedro Brugada and a calligraphic work by Goedele Soetewey.
♦ Mayor Tim De Knyf will open the exhibition.
♦ Admission is free. A glass of wine will be served.

“Canto ostinato” - de weerklank van het woord -

De tentoonstelling loopt van 7 tot 27 juni 2026 en is te bezoeken elke vr-za-zo 14-17u

Sint-Fledericuskerk & TaLe Art Gallery, Vlierzeledorp te Vlierzele

Initiatiefnemers: Jean-Paul van der Poorten, Pedro Brugado en TaLe Art Gallery

Het event focust op de interactie tussen 3 kunstvormen en toont hoe deze elkaar inspireren en beïnvloeden.

Vierendertig kunstenaars uit alle Vlaamse provincies zijn met de poëtische uitspraak van PEDRO BRUGADA over het ritme van het hart, en met de gedichten in dialoog gegaan. Ze vertaalden deze naar visuele elementen zoals herhaalde vormen, patronen en ritmische lijnen. Herhaalde ritmische motieven, ook wel ostinato’s genoemd, vinden we ook terug in de muziek. Ze hebben een meditatief en betoverend effect en roepen door hun repetitieve karakter een gevoel van rust, trance of zelfs betovering op.

PROGRAMMA VERNISSAGE 7 JUNI:
♦ JEF VERMASSEN stelt de poëzie- en beeldende kunstuitgave voor.
♦ The Ghent District Highlanders (doedelzakspelers), het Sint-Ceciliakoor van Vlierzele o.l.v. Johan De Vos, Pascal Podevyn (gitaar), Hans Van Gysegem (piano en orgel) en Filip Van Keer (belleman/percussiesolist/tenor) zorgen voor de muzikale omlijsting.
♦ Er worden gedichten en poëtische teksten gelezen door Pedro Brugada, Hervé Claeys, G***t Decabooter, Jean-Paul van der Poorten, Jef Vermassen en Elia Vermeulen.
♦ Pedro Brugada en Jean-Paul van der Poorten lezen het gedicht ‘Ode aan Vlierzele’.
♦ Hervé Claeys veilt het werk ‘Fugit irreparabile tempus’ van Pedro Brugada en een kalligrafisch werk van Goedele Soetewey.
♦ Burgemeester Tim De Knyf opent de tentoonstelling.
♦ De toegang is gratis. Er wordt een glaasje aangeboden.

Gerealiseerd met de medewerking van TaLe Art Gallery, gemeentebestuur Sint‑Lievens‑Houtem, Houtemse verenigingen waaronder Zangkoor Sint‑Cecilia, Gezinsbond Vliezl, de Bib / Route42, Sint-Fledericusparochie en kunstenaars van de Kreazolder.
