We build our cycles following the Bruthaus philosophy. Bruthausgallery is a contemporary art gallery with a fondness for artistic experimentation. In September 2012, Joris Van der Borght and Nancy De Vos founded "Bruthaus" as a mixed house for artistic and functional development, and from 2014 Bruthausgallery grew into the gallery it is today in Waregem. According to the Bruthaus philosophy, conte
mporary art should have contemporary relevance, constantly question itself and preferably play a broader role outside the closed domain of art itself. Bruthausgallery organises five exhibition periods a year in the different "departments" of the gallery. The exhibitions take the form of solo presentations, duo presentations and group exhibitions (thematic or otherwise). Every year Bruthausgallery grants an external platform to one artist in the Claessens Artist's Canvas factory building next door to the gallery, with the focus on the development of monumental and (spatial) contextual installations. Bruthausgallery distinguishes itself from the expectations that people generally have regarding art galleries by encouraging experimentation, by forming a close team with its artists and by collaborating - both with these artists and with collectors. At Bruthausgallery, different artists and disciplines meet, enter into confrontation and dialogue, and are invited to collaborate. Bruthausgallery encourages these encounters and offers the artists a professional framework in which to experiment with new ways of developing, evolving and presenting. Bruthausgallery actively seeks open collaborations in the field with like-minded galleries and/or organisations - to exchange artists, performances and opportunities and to build and strengthen networks.
