A aquarela sobre papel Canson realizada por Artur Barrio em 1988 carrega a força de um artista que sempre recusou os limites tradicionais da arte. Mesmo em trabalhos sobre papel — aparentemente mais silenciosos — Barrio mantém a intensidade de uma produção marcada pela urgência, pela experimentação e pelo gesto político.

Nos anos 1980, sua obra atravessa uma dimensão mais íntima e sensorial, sem abandonar o caráter crítico que marcou sua trajetória desde as décadas anteriores. A matéria, o corpo, o vestígio e a instabilidade continuam presentes, ainda que traduzidos por meios mais delicados como a aquarela. Há uma tensão constante entre controle e acaso, entre construção e dissolução.

The watercolor on Canson paper created by Artur Barrio in 1988 carries the strength of an artist who consistently rejected the traditional boundaries of art. Even in works on paper — seemingly quieter in nature — Barrio preserves the intensity of a practice marked by urgency, experimentation, and political gesture.

During the 1980s, his work moved through a more intimate and sensorial dimension without abandoning the critical character that had defined his trajectory in previous decades. Matter, the body, traces, and instability remain present, though translated through more delicate mediums such as watercolor. There is a constant tension between control and chance, between construction and dissolution.

Cada escolha, cada silêncio, cada desvio
é também uma forma de existir.
Não há uma única maneira:
há existências densas, silenciosas,
outras vibrantes, à beira do transbordamento.
As obras aqui reunidas não definem, elas provocam.
E nos devolvem à pergunta:
como temos existido?

Entre o que somos e o que nos tornamos, há um campo invisível onde a vida se desenha.
Cada escolha, cada silêncio, cada desvio
é também uma forma de existir.

Olhamos para o caos e imploramos por uma forma. Queremos o pássaro, a mulher, a queda d’água; qualquer nome que nos salve de admitir que a vida, no fundo, é essa mancha de carne e desejo sem legenda.

Critico a nossa mania de querer domesticar o real. Essa tela não é um cenário; é o avesso do bordado, o lugar onde a pele do sentido rasga e deixa vazar o que não cabe no espelho. Somos sujeitos fragmentados tentando costurar um “eu” inteiro com linhas de sombra, enquanto o inconsciente ri da nossa pretensão de clareza.

No fim, a obra não se entrega ao nosso entendimento. Ela nos olha de volta, nua e crua, lembrando que a verdade só aparece quando a gente desiste de explicar e aceita o silêncio do que transborda. O resto é apenas o nosso esforço inútil de não nos afogarmos no próprio vazio.

We look at chaos and beg for form. We want the bird, the woman, the waterfall — any name that spares us from admitting that life, at its core, is this stain of flesh and desire without a caption.

I challenge our urge to domesticate the real. This canvas is not a scene; it is the reverse of embroidery, the place where the skin of meaning tears open and lets spill what cannot be contained by the mirror. We are fragmented subjects trying to stitch together a whole “self” with threads of shadow, while the unconscious laughs at our pretension of clarity.

In the end, the work does not yield to our understanding. It looks back at us, raw and unfiltered, reminding us that truth only emerges when we stop trying to explain and accept the silence of what overflows. The rest is merely our futile attempt not to drown in our own emptiness.

A artista Adriana Lerner nasceu no Rio e atravessou o mundo. Entre culturas e deslocamentos, afinou o olhar para o raro, o sensível, o que escapa.

Fundou a Arrivals Gate como gesto de encontro e de sustentabilidade de comunidades locais em Kathmandu, no Nepal, onde o artesanal se torna contemporâneo e o cashmere carrega histórias de quem resiste.

Entre parcerias e invenções, sua obra provoca: olhar de novo, lembrar do que esquecemos.

Em Deslembrança, a memória ganha corpo — espelhos, afetos, fragmentos.
Porque há histórias que insistem em permanecer.

Na série das nuvens, o gesto é manual e delicado: papel e cashmere se encontram nas mãos da artista, dando forma a uma obra que encanta.

Sua arte carrega história, energia —
e, sobretudo, leveza.

Adriana Lerner was born in Rio and has traversed the world. Between cultures and displacements, she has refined her gaze toward the rare, the sensitive — that which escapes.

She founded Arrivals Gate as a gesture of encounter and sustainability for local communities in Kathmandu, Nepal,
where the artisanal becomes contemporary and cashmere carries the stories of those who endure.

Between collaborations and inventions, her work invites us to look again, to remember what we have forgotten.

In Deslembrança (Unremembering), memory takes form — mirrors, affections, fragments. Because there are stories that insist on remaining.

In the cloud series, the gesture is manual and delicate: paper and cashmere meet in the artist’s hands, shaping a body of work that enchants.

Fernando Soares nasceu em São Paulo, onde vive e produz.

Seu trabalho é tecer —
mas não com fios: com borracha, com tensão, com gesto.

Finas tiras de látex se entrelaçam como uma trama inventada,
uma espécie de tapeçaria sem tecido,
onde o fazer manual insiste em permanecer.

Sua obra nasce do entrelaçar —
de um gesto repetido, paciente, quase ritual.
É nesse movimento que a imagem ganha corpo,
se constrói e se desestabiliza ao mesmo tempo.

Entre o esticar e o ceder,
entre o controle e o colapso,
suas tramas revelam forças invisíveis que nos atravessam.

A pintura já não é superfície.
É matéria viva.
É pele.
É tensão.

Fernando Soares was born in São Paulo, where he lives and works.

His practice is a kind of weaving—
but not with threads: with rubber, with tension, with gesture.

Thin strips of latex intertwine like an invented weave,
a kind of tapestry without fabric,
where the handmade insists on remaining.

His work emerges through interlacing—
a repeated gesture, patient, almost ritualistic.
It is within this movement that the image takes form,
building itself and destabilizing at once.

Between stretching and yielding,
between control and collapse,
his structures reveal invisible forces that pass through us.

Painting is no longer surface.
It is living matter.
It is skin.
It is tension.

Na obra de Miguel Morgado, o mito é devorado e reinventado.
Entre bestiários, narrativas medievais e um tropicalismo fantástico, o artista pratica uma espécie de antropofagia contemporânea: absorve referências históricas e as recria sob uma pulsação vibrante e atual.

Suas cores vivas — intensas, quase febris — atravessam a tela como energia vital, dando forma a figuras híbridas que habitam um território entre o sonho e a fábula. O passado é matéria-prima; o imaginário, campo de invenção.

In Miguel Morgado’s work, myth is devoured and reinvented.
Between bestiaries, medieval narratives, and a fantastic tropicalism, the artist practices a kind of contemporary anthropophagy: he absorbs historical references and recreates them with a vibrant, current pulse.

His vivid colors — intense, almost feverish — cut across the canvas like vital energy, giving shape to hybrid figures that inhabit a territory between dream and fable. The past becomes raw material; the imaginary, a field of invention.

Karen Pezolito vive e trabalha em São Paulo. Sua pintura, de rigoroso realismo, constrói uma espécie de natureza-morta contemporânea a partir de objetos do cotidiano.

Doces, bolos, flores são fragmentos de uma vida ordinária e que no olhar da artista ganham presença e importância, revelando nestas cenas o que há de afeto, memória, cuidado e amor.

Entre o silêncio das formas e a precisão da pincelada, a artista transforma o seu dia a dia em uma experiência lúdica, sensível, convidando o espectador a desacelerar e reconhecer a poesia contida nas pequenas coisas.

Karen Pezolito lives and works in São Paulo. Her painting, marked by rigorous realism, constructs a kind of contemporary still life drawn from everyday objects.

Sweets, cakes, and flowers are fragments of ordinary life that, through the artist’s gaze, gain presence and importance, revealing in these scenes what is rooted in affection, memory, care, and love.

Between the silence of forms and the precision of her brushwork, the artist transforms daily life into a playful and sensitive experience, inviting the viewer to slow down and recognize the poetry contained in small things.
