Next Friday, May 8, Maria Thereza Alves takes part in Morning Rituals in Venice, a collective breakfast gathering celebrating the launch of PoesiePoems, a publication dedicated to the poetic dimension of Jimmie Durham’s (1940–2021) practice.

Edited by Maria Thereza Alves and Salvatore Lacagnina, the book brings together a selection of Durham’s poems — highlighting the central role of language and writing throughout his artistic trajectory. His work, as well as that of Alves, with whom he founded the duo LABINAC, unsettles established categories within European and North American culture, dismantling codified images and symbols in order to expose the mechanisms that sustain dominant cultural systems.

Na próxima sexta-feira, 8 de maio, Maria Thereza Alves participa em Veneza do encontro Morning Rituals, um café da manhã coletivo em torno do lançamento de PoesiePoems, publicação dedicada à dimensão poética da prática de Jimmie Durham (1940–2021). Editado por Maria Thereza Alves e Salvatore Lacagnina, o livro reúne uma seleção de poemas de Durham — destacando o papel central da linguagem e da escrita em sua trajetória artística. Dupla Cura, a panoramic exhibition by Dalton Paula, opens on Saturday, April 25, at Instituto Inhotim, bringing together more than 100 works. Curated by Beatriz Lemos, the show spans different moments of the artist’s practice alongside newly commissioned works.

Working across painting, installation, photography, and video, Dalton Paula investigates the presence and construction of Black subjects in Brazilian history and the African diaspora. Structured around recurring axes—such as the Black body, history, the sacred, territory, and healing—the exhibition unfolds through works that engage memory, spirituality, and collective practices.

The opening is part of Inhotim’s 20th anniversary program, which begins on April 25 with a series of inaugurations and a special public program, including performances, guided visits, and an open reception.

Dupla Cura, exposição panorâmica de Dalton Paula, abre sábado, 25 de abril, no Instituto Inhotim, reunindo mais de 100 obras. Com curadoria de Beatriz Lemos, a mostra percorre diferentes momentos da trajetória do artista, além de apresentar trabalhos inéditos comissionados para o museu.

Com uma prática multidisciplinar que atravessa pintura, instalação, fotografia e vídeo, Dalton Paula investiga a presença e a construção da imagem de sujeitos negros na história brasileira e na diáspora africana. Organizada a partir de eixos como corpo negro, história, sagrado, território e cura, a exposição articula obras que ativam memória, espiritualidade e práticas coletivas.

A abertura integra a programação de 20 anos do Inhotim, que se inicia em 25 de abril com uma série de inaugurações e programação especial, incluindo performances, visitas guiadas e coquetel aberto ao público.

“Abertura: Lina Bo Bardi and the 1980s”, curated by João Grinspum Ferraz, is on view until 13 June at the Brussels gallery.

A central focus of the exhibition is the furniture designed for SESC Pompéia, presented as a set rather than as isolated pieces, highlighting an economy of means that refuses hierarchies between erudite and popular, drawing and improvisation.

The show also revisits Lina’s “pau-mastros”, wooden structures that suspend paintings in space and propose a more open, relational display.

Bringing her work into dialogue with artists such as Jota Mombaça, Martha Araújo, Rafael França, Hudinilson Jr., 3Nós3, Juraci Dórea, and Felipe Mujica, the exhibition expands into a field of relations around body, space, and social inscription.

“Abertura: Lina Bo Bardi and the 1980s”, an exhibition dedicated to the Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi, opens on April 22 at the Brussels gallery.

Curated by João Grinspum Ferraz, the exhibition brings together architecture, contemporary art, and furniture, foregrounding her conception of space as a field of use, encounter, and transformation.

Here, furniture does not appear as historical design, but as structure in use, incorporated into the exhibition space. What is at stake is not form, but social function: furniture as a mediation between body and coexistence.

By bringing her practice into proximity with that of contemporary artists, the exhibition proposes a field of relations, activating her thinking in the present and exploring how architecture and art shape ways of seeing, occupying, and imagining social space.

“Abertura: Lina Bo Bardi e os anos 1980”, exposição dedicada a arquiteta ítalo-brasileira Lina Bo Bardi, abre dia 22 de abril na galeria em Bruxelas.

Com curadoria de João Grinspum Ferraz, a exposição reúne arquitetura, arte contemporânea e mobiliário, evidenciando sua concepção de espaço como campo de uso, encontro e transformação.

Aqui, o mobiliário não aparece como design histórico, mas como estrutura em uso, incorporado ao espaço expositivo. O que está em jogo não é a forma, mas a função social: o mobiliário como mediação entre corpo e convivência.

Com espaços em São Paulo e Bruxelas, Martins&Montero promove encontros entre perspectivas diversas, aproximando artistas, contextos e públicos, ao mesmo tempo em que se mantém atenta às urgências do presente.

Ahhh! Beije-me, exposição dedicada a Hudinilson Jr., abre nesta quinta-feira, dia 26, na galeria de São Paulo.

Em um gesto curatorial inédito, a mostra incorpora elementos do universo íntimo de Hudinilson Jr., incluindo objetos pessoais provenientes de sua casa-ateliê, apresentados como fragmentos de um lugar onde vida e criação se confundiam.

A exposição inclui ainda um ensaio fotográfico inédito de Mauro Restiffe, realizado em 2025 neste mesmo antigo apartamento. Mais do que documentação, suas imagens capturam a atmosfera sensível do local onde o artista viveu e trabalhou, revelando o ambiente como extensão de sua imaginação visual.
