A breathtaking study in tenderness and detail.

This original graphite work by Denis Mayer Jr. captures a Canada goose with her young, embodying the quiet strength and devotion of nature’s bonds.

Every feather, blade of grass, and ripple on the water is rendered with astonishing precision, reminding us that beauty often lies in the subtleties of the wild.

Claudio D’Angelo’s oil painting reflects the serenity of the northern landscape, where loons move quietly across still waters beneath towering rock and forest. With a refined balance of detail and atmosphere, the work conveys both the majesty and intimacy of the wilderness.

Posted • Nothing like a winter scene to cool you down. On one of the trails in the woods near our house is an open clearing that always has me thinking, or rather hoping, that I will come across some wildlife. The nice thing about being an artist is having a vivid imagination, seeing a beautiful setting, and bringing it to life by painting in that wildlife.

This painting is currently on display at the in Algonquin Park. With appreciation to Steve Gotz for sharing his reference photo.

Posted • Sunrises, at least later in the summer, are often softer than sunsets from my experience. The morning mist rising from the still warm lakes soften the scene. I captured this sunrise after crawling out of my tent on a cool September morning while camping interior on Carcajou bay, a favourite painting location for Tom Thomson or so I learned while visiting the area. I can see why. Dawn on Carcajou 30x48” available at Algonquin Art Centre
